Godmutha
How does it kill things? It looks very fragile and I can't imagine it has large teeth It grabs hold of insects with its pincer-type arms and eats them alive. They are small, but their arms are very strong, once they have the insects, they dont let go till they're full

She has had some pretty good fights with spiders so far and come up trumps everytime. I will try and take a video of him dancing on my hand. They sort of sway from side to side. Extremely easy to keep and will eat flies, crickets, locusts, little worms, spiders, ants, and pretty much any other little creepy crawley. Seen a few programs on these and they are hard as nails pound for pound. I've always wanted one but i have to many pets at the moment. Do you know how long they live for? juanchan
I take it you simply keep them in a small aquarium as a vivarium? Do you have to keep them humid/dry? My Dad used to go on about a preying mantis he once had and I'm currently considering getting a small pet (living alone's so boring!) SupraGirlie
They are carniverous, so best to keep them alone. Very easy to look after, just add a few insects and spray them with water every couple of days Spray them with water lol also where do you get live insects from I thought pet shops only sold frozen dead ones lol
kieren1234
Yeah jjust use a spray bottle to put a light mist on them. I get my insects off livefooduk.com or just off ebay, and the fishig shop for a couple of maggotts. I would reccommend getting one to anybody!! Mine shed last night and is double the size, could not believe it this morning.

Yes, you just keep them in a small vivarium with vivarium sad in the bottom and maybe a branch (purchased from a pet shop as these are properly sterilised). The African Mantids (which are what these guys have) don't need heat mats as they are very hardy creatures. They just need spraying with water once a day or so to keep the humidity up. Even if they dont have them on the shelves, they maybe able to order them in for you. Also you can buy them online and get them delivered as Kieron said.
