SIMON LC
Just about to purchase a BOV for my TT and was wondering which one is the best sounding one out there on the market?
Nic
My preference would be the new HKS SSQV Blow Off Valve Kit for a TT. This comes as a complete kit with everything needed to fit the Supra.... http://www.hks-power.co.jp/products/blow_off/sqv2/img/sqv2_img.gif ...or for a single the new HKS SSQV Racing. This would require a weld on flange http://www.hks-power.co.jp/products/blow_off/sqv_r/img/sqv_r_img_01.gif I can do good prices on both if needed. . kieren1234
I agree Nic, and Simon just to give you an insight as to what these sound like, here is a video of one on a TT: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=nElyz213ZrE You can also change the fins in the BOV to get a different sound iirc. Chris and Alana
That new HKS SSQV (not the racing one) looks well nice, If I never already had the older design I would be tempted myself.

grahamc
I prefer the XS one to the HKS one my car used to have. But would prefer no noise... Love the sound of the supra engine.

hadyn
Has any one here heard the HKS special fins? can you get them nic? http://www.nengun.com/image/catalogue/primary/nengun-1182-00-hks-super_sqv_-_special_fin.gif HKS SSQV - Special Fin SF120-G (Gold) High Frequency sound echo, much like the sound of a supercharger SF100-P (Metallic Purple) Emphasised sequential sound in 2 stages, louder more distinct sound. Ive got the purple insert and it changes the HKS noise from a camp chirp to a nice distinctive whooosh. The HKS is a great bov but you hear it on a lot of cars, so i'd recommend the purple fin to make you stand out a bit The gold fin does nothing and is just for show afaik... Nic
I am a bit confused here.If I remove my standard BOV,what do I need to fit an aftermarket one in its place? They all seem to come in different fitments. A BOV can basically be fitted anywhere in the pressurised intake system between the turbo and the throttle body. Some kits such as the HKS SSQV, Blitz, etc. fit in place of the stock BOV. These kits includes everything needed to do the swap. Other BOV kits such as the ARC, Apexi, etc. are mounted on the IC piping. These kits include a replacement IC hardpipe and parts to remove and block off the stock BOV. BOV's are also sold as universal fitment (ie. not a car specific kit). To fit these you need to buy a weld on flange (sold separately) and get the flange welded onto one of the IC hardpipes (either before or after the intercooler). If you need any help with prices or more advice just let me know.
Gaz6002
SSQV sounds like a mouse on speed IMO... well, mine does anyway. Will be looking for new fins soon me thinks.
