RedM
One word: Tasty. Another word: Filling. Two more: Bit pricey. Having fallen of the Vegan wagon after just a month me and Mrs Red headed into Leeds to try posh burger. The ambience of the place is okay. The colour scheme is cream, orange and brown but it works well. The staff were helpful and quick. I had the Pesterella burger:100% Aberdeen-Angus Scotch beef, fresh pesto, mozzarella, salad & relish with some added bacon from the 'extras' list. Mrs Red had a Venison burger: Fresh Venison, spiced red currant & cranberry sauce & salad with some avocado again from the 'extras' list. We both had a side order of fries and a milshake each. I had been dubious about the shakes at £3.25 each but was happy to see them bring what were essentially small buckets of shake for each of us. They were super cold and tasty. The fries were plentiful, crispy and hot. My burger was delicious. It arrived on a plate and measured a good 8" in height thus requiring a skewer to hold it upright. Same for Mrs Red. While I enjoyed mine without mishap, Mrs R noticed that the Avocado was missing from hers. She enquired about it and received not only her burger back remade with Avocado but also a full refund for it too! Not bad although we left half of it as a tip. All in all an enjoyable and tasty experience. The cost for two burgers, 2 x fries and 2 x shakes: £29.10:blink:
CJ
£29.10? There is no way on this God's earth I would ever pay that for a couple of burgers.

Before we went in we said we'd only do it once. Just to see what they were like. We've already planned a return visit!

DaveK
£29.10 for a meal for two sounds pretty cheap to me - and it's not like it was McDonalds burgers. The refund part is impressive.

Pixelfill
I was enjoying your write up of the event, but I guess my Yorkshire upbringing came into play when I saw the price. The front room echoed to a very loud F*** ME Mike

Seeing as Google must be broken have a look here: http://www.gbkinfo.com/ It's one street to the left of Park Row. It's the three lane, one-way road that leads up to the Library. michael
I finally had chance to visit the burger emporium tonight and found it to be an enjoyable experience, the lighting was a bit harsh on my tired eyes as it cycled through it's range of colours but the general ambience, food and service gave me nothing to whinge about. I had one of the specials, a buffalo burger, nice to try new meaty goodness and I'd have it again, yes it's expensive for a burger but it's not an ordinary burger. So in summary... Mmm-mmmm. That is a tasty burger http://web.jet.es/unepelde/imgs/pf_kburger.jpg

bmx1lew
I'm also a bit of a frantic food lover and love checking out new shiz, cheak out this site, http://www.alternativemeats.co.uk/ I recomend buying a few Ostrich burgers, I cant explain how nice Ostrich is, its the leanest of all meats and the best one for you I.e. high in protine no fat ect and it tastes amazing. Remember that site lads, especially for summer BBQ, Orstrich BBQed mmmmm Wild Boar and apple burgers are also nice, Venison just tastes like beef, springbok was nothing special, kangaroo was tastey, I am yet to try Kudu, Impala, Zebra,Wildebeest, Bison, Blesbok and Crocodile Think i might go nuts and order "The Outback Party Pack" for £32 and live on meat for a weak !!! I've yet to try the slug and lettuce but word on the streets is they do a huge 16oz burger? Lew

I'd agree with you on the Ostrich, a very tasty meat indeed, like a very good cut of beef - I've only had it as a steak though, I presume the burgers are pretty damn good though. Remember that site lads, especially for summer BBQ, Orstrich BBQed mmmmm Wild Boar and apple burgers are also nice, Venison just tastes like beef, springbok was nothing special, kangaroo was tastey, I am yet to try Kudu, Impala, Zebra,Wildebeest, Bison, Blesbok and Crocodile Crocodile isn't worth the bother IMO, it's just expensive pork. I've yet to try the slug and lettuce but word on the streets is they do a huge 16oz burger? They do but you can't eat it as a burger, you have to dismantle it because it's all height - tasty height but far too big to chomp on. We went out last year and I told a couple of the chaps in the office to try them, I think one of them is still trying to finish it I had a slug & lettuce one a week or so ago and they seem to have gone back to the better burgers again so I guess a few people must have complained or I just had a bad one. 8oz is generally enough for most normal humans once you combine the fries, salad and a side order of their wasabi tempura veg. Lew Site is probably run by a bunch of South Africans, as that sounds like the typical menu for a weekend braai in SA. Ostrich is great, used to love it in SA, but difficult to get it here. Kudo is good for biltong. Crocodile is actually a white meat, like chicken. Very nice. Had a croc curry ages ago
