Guest Gillian
Can anyone give me any possible reasons why my supra wont start When im putting the key in the ignition the car just makes a clicking noise for quite a lenghty period of time before it eventually starts has anyone ever had a similar problem and can you give me any idea whats wrong with it? * thanks fo all posts so far, but I have recently had the car in for an MOT and the starter moto was stripped down and checked, and the battery also has a full charge. Any other ideas?? Any help appriciated
jamesmark
Could be the starter or could be the battery. Or it may be something else. When I had this issue it was the battery (although mines never started as did not try it for a long time)
Jake
Knackered battery probably, or like Mark said; starter motor.
michael
Another vote for the battery and hello.
jamesmark
Just out of curiosity and process of elimination get a set of jump leads, disconnect the battery fully, connect the jump leads to a car and to yours (other car has to be running) and try turning your car over. If it starts first time then bingo we have the answer. Thats how I found out my fully charged battery was buggered.
MrRalphMan
I get the clicky noise, just before I storm off in the Mrs car to work. My battery is buggered though.. If it clicks it never starts for me.

2jzhead
My guess is the starter seloniod sticking, or the battery
Jspec Germany
YEs, I get to give the solution. Search: Starter contacts refurb. Not to tough if you have a lift or jackstands and not expensive either.

Sean1933
As above, check battery claims. Check they have a good contact with the battery terminals and are clean!

J_Supra_07
It sounds like you may have a faulty earth, the clicking your hearing maybe the relays. Clean up your earth points and inspect the cables.
DannoSupra
My starter is on its way out, sometimes it fires up 1st time, sometimes it'll take a couple of turns of the key
