That Trackmania game.

I'm thinking of buying one the games from this series but I can't work out if you can race computer controlled opponents.

Can anyone shed any light on it for me? I won't bother if you have to play it against online opponents.

Does LFS have offline CPU opponents?

Yeah - they start off pretty poor, but the AI for them will actually learn from watching your driving style which is quite cool.

Note, however, that LFS, whilst being my favourite driving game, is definitely 100% simulation (a la Forza) rather than arcade fun.

I've downloaded the LFS demo and I'm finding it a bit sim-y. I'm really after something more arcade like. Plenty of power sliding, big jumps etc.

Trackmania looked to fit the boll but the lack of CPU cars makes it a non-starter. I'm sick of the NFS games as NFSU drove me to despair with it's 'appearing from out of nowhere directly in front of you' cars.

I don't think TD:Unlimited came out on old Xbox and I don't think my pc will run it.

Basically, if you remember the old Screamer series of games then that's what I want. With jumps.

It's worth it, the different modes, tracks and cars really enhance the game :)

Then you can go online and race against the ramming retards that don't brake for corners.

Playing online is bad for my health. It makes me stressed as I realise yet again that human are cheating scumbags with no respect for rules or fair play.

Also - it's worth thinking about getting a force-feedback steering wheel to play it with too - the force feedback is quite well implemented so you get a really good feel for the grip that you get.

No way. I play games so rarely that if I can't play with keys or mouse then I don't bother.
