tbourner
I was under the impression it was only recording of a voice over a phone that had to be told before the recording took place, and for TV programmes they could record first then get releases signed later (otherwise they'd have trouble recording anything!). Ark
Seriously though - with the kind of money it costs to make programs, do you really think that any producer would spunk all the cash required for a film crew etc if there was a good chance of not getting any useful output? Of course not, which means it has to be faked, or set up at the very least. It's just that some of it is more obvious than other bits. You can record what you like without permission, you are only allowed to use it for profit, public broadcast, or legal reasons with explicit agreement by the person you recorded before or after the fact though. I'm off to look at what Burna linked to. Actually there is one of the funniest comedy moments I've ever witnessed on the special features of season one or two of Seinfeld and I must chuck it on youtube once I get the DVDs back from Alex -Ian
Supragal
Yeah- what about the undercover documentaries - rogue traders and so on. There is no way they get permission first!! Yes that was a quote from the BBC website. I am convinced it is real. Mind you, even if it's not, it's still hilarious. I'd imagine some don't work out, some people would just hang up but they aren't going to show those are they?
Soop Dogg
Watched it once, didn't like it, won't be watching it again. Sorry, but I thought it was cheap rubbish that's been done a million times before, but those times it was done better!
Supragal
maybe it's an age thing?
JonW
I Like most of it. The pictures are very clever sometimes. I'd say it's a bit hit and miss but when it's good it's very good. Terry Tibbs is a work of genius. 'Talk to me'
edge
Loved it. Shame they didnt do that many. Alot of little things to keep an eye on and each time you watch the same episode you see or hear something new, until about the 4th time
Supragal
Oh yeah I hated it when the repeated sketches from previous episodes. Very annoying.
