RedM
Due to me having concerns about the handling and suspension components on my car plus a persistent oil leak I thought I'd take her to see someone who actually knows what they're doing. Apart from managing to end up in Nantwich despite apparently not deviating from my chosen route I made it to Chris's place on time. He came out to meet me at his gates and suggested taking the car for a drive first. BLOODY HECK! I didn't know she could corner like that. I was actually scared. In my own car! Thankfully Chris said it handled just fine in his opinion. Phew! He then put the car on the ramps to check the suspension components and look for the oil leak. The upshot was that the dampers could do with replacing (getting on a bit) and the rear top susp arm thingys (see Chris? I told you I'd forget the correct name:D) have some play. The oil leak couldn't be pinpointed as such but there was weeping from the cam shaft something or other seals so they were replaced. In his opinion the leak is so slight that unless it gets dramatically worse it'll probably be better just to top up every so often. He's set my mind to rest and I'm actually pretty happy with the car for a change. So, all in all, a good visit. Thanks Chris.
michael
I knew Chris was good but his mind control skills continue to amaze me, especially if they work on the paranoid one

michael
Told you your car wasnt crap I've been telling him that since the day we first went to view it but it keeps him busy So no Corvette talk for a while? Wheels, suspension, full BPU, trackday... another year of smiles....
RedM
I knew Chris was good but his mind control skills continue to amaze me, especially if they work on the paranoid one One of the best parts of the trip was Chris telling me that "through this door is an Anatolian Karabash"! By the end of the visit I was convinced the thing was ten feet tall with many heads! Like Cerberus. But bigger.

Wheels, suspension, full BPU, trackday... another year of smiles.... Wheels: Staying with stock 17s 4 EVAR! Suspension: getting it sorted after Xmas I reckon. BPU: Hell yes. Trackday: I think Chris could talk me into it. Corevette: I don't know. I still really want one but primarily for the engine. If ever I was in the financial position to go single properly then I don't think I would, if you catch my drift.

RedM
I thought I'd take her to see someone who actually knows what they're doing. If it makes you happy Rob simply add "but I ended up at Chris Wilsons place instead" to the end. Seriously though, don't be offended. I don't think I've asked you about the leak but I have asked two local 'specialists' who didn't deliver.

RedM
Was that Bashka you met? The door was kept very closed. I staved of my curiosity by reading Race Car Engineer. I didn't understand much of it but it was totally fascinating.
