Danny
Hi My plan is to take off my rear wing and drive wing less, but i will install a rear diffuser from topsecret. is there any who knows or have any experience with the handling without the rear wing? Best regards. Danny
jamesmark
Unless you are going to be driving over 130mph all the time you will not notice any difference.

hogmaw
Driven at 160+ and many others have gone faster. No problem!

Guest Nicholas
I've hit 180 without a wing and didn't notice any difference.
Guigsy
What happens at 130mph? 130mph with no rear wing in a supra + http://gotblogged.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/05/flux_capacitor.jpg = http://www.newempire.co.uk/phlog/images/20070223182716_27-08-06%20sun%20067.jpg
Gordon F
Nothing really. Is the right answer
jamesmark
Is the right answer Well with varied results I will let you work that one out. All I can say is the rear spoiler adds some downforce at a certain speed I hvae never noticed it, or was it doing that good a job I never noticed? Who knows. Thats why I took mine off. Snooze
I thought that at 130 upwards, the spoiler starts to generate a bit of downforce up to maximum of about 60lb. Although I seriously doubt that anyone is going to be any sort of driving at 130+ that actually requires any extra rear-end downforce anyway - so it's pretty damn near 100% safe just to think of the decision as a cosmetic one. lexsum
Also without the rear spolier it will make it difficult for a giant to pick up the car with one hand. This might be good or bad depending on your view of giants.

If I recall the stats correctly, toyota list the spoiler as adding 60lbs of down force and around 90mph, I would presume this down force figure would rise as your mph would.... But given any amount of down force, in a straight line Im sure you wouldnt feel that force pushing down on the rear of the car.....
Wez
I took mine off ages ago, never had an issue

Did Toyota ever release an aerodynamic review of the performance of the wing then?
Suprash
Did Toyota ever release an aerodynamic review of the performance of the wing then? Not that I have ever seen, the only thing they have ever listed in official print, or from brochures was that at 90mph it produces 60lb of down force

Call me weird, but if there was something more technical out there, I was going to ask if anyone had a copy I could borrow
