PhilMorrison
Closest info I found was from Ryan G (thanks ), but that's for a DAF 0.96 4088. So, does anyone have any first hand experience using the Garret 1.06 version? I'd love to see boost verses rpm dyno readout on a 2JZGTE.. Ryan G's info on the DAF 0.96 version: DAF (think) GT4088 | 0.96 (think) AR Housing (Jake) – Makes Full Boost (1.4bar) in 6th by 3780rpm and at 1.4bar @6000rpm is running 71% injector duty on precision 800cc injector (aeromotive fpr 38psi I think) (Air temps were 35c when logged) bit slower with spool than the DAF 0.81 gt4088 but flows alot more at top end. I remember jakes car pulled insanely after 5000rpm on my bum dyno . Looked the nicest too 800 / 71% = 568bhp @6k (estimate using a lambda of 0.8) Just to add at 6700 rpm the injector duty was at 74% cycle so this car should be around 590 bhp

PhilMorrison
Yeah I saw that. I was going to PM you about buying it for spares, but didn't want to offend you with a low offer when your probably still recoiling with misfortune . Thanks for the link, that's a good read. Has Jake not dyno'd his yet? It'd be cool to see how much I'm going to have to abuse the clutch to keep this thing in the power band
Jake
"DAF" Please don't be one of the wankers that tries to belittle the Precision GT4088 by constantly referring to it as the DAF turbo. It's way more sophisticated/modern than many turbos used on Supras. For example, the PHR GT60 ones are practically dinosaurs in comparision to the Precision GT4088. PhilMorrison
Haha Chill Winston! I'm just going off the description from Ryans thread. Consider me 00ber N00b . I genuinely thought it was a DAF turbo. So, you have a 'Precision GT4088 1.06' on a VVti 6 speed? Do you have a print out or anything that could help prepare me for what I've got myself in for? Jake
No, I have a 0.96A/R GT4088 I wouldn't consider anything bigger than 0.96A/R for a road car.
Alex
Precision?? I didn't know Precision make a GT4088 anything, that would directly compete with their own T61-67 range.

Jake i love your way with words I put DAF in that thread as it was printed right accross the compressor housing and all the other GT4088 i have seen apart from yours have Garrett printed instead of DAF but yes you are right precision produced my one too. Thorin
So is there any difference between the DAF and Garrett badged versions?
PhilMorrison
The Garret is ball bearing, and seems to spool a few hundred RPM sooner than the comparitive journel bearing 'other' brand.

kylestt
The GT4088 is a killer turbo for the hp goals and the spool. Jake, how are you loving the larger AR? They are in stock too hehe.
