RedM
I don't want anything fancy as all I want it for is to surf the net and store my pics. I'd rather have a large screen instead of oodles of memory and a massive hard drive. Wi-Fi capable would be good. Windows XP as well. Where's the best place for a cheap model? michael
What do you consider to be "cheap" ? Most online suppliers and larger stores like PC World should be able to do you something for around £300.

ozz
Tesco had some decent laptops in, Acer. IIRC they were advertising a 17" widescreen model for £399, you would probably want a big lap though! THey had other models for £300.

Schtuv
http://www.morgancomputers.co.uk They shift stock for other manufacturers at a large discount. They do plasma TVs, satnav, gps and stuff, too. I've ordered from them several times before, and never had any problems with them, or my orders. One of the guys had a catalogue for somewhere and it had a cracking little lappy for £230. Decent processor, decent ram, decent memory and a 15" screen. Was a toshiba satellite too.
