supraspeed
i'm halfway through replacing the transmission on my supra (5speed man)- i need a new propshaft but i wanna know if theres any difference between tt and n/a cos i don't want to buy the wrong one. problem is ive got a n/a engine with a single turbo conversion so if they are different would it make a difference in performance or reliability. RobSheffield
Thats confusing! What are you changing gearbox wise? Adding a single to an engine wont change the prop shaft will it?
supraspeed
well to cut a long story i bought a my supra and the gearbox broke after 3 weeks then turns out it all the running gear was from a toyota hilux or something.... need new propshaft, already got getrag 5 speed gearbox. now i need propshaft and clutch.. prob an uprated one considering its punchin out over 400bhp... flukey-lukey
hmmm I'm confused too. Thought getrag was only the 6 speed box and not the 5?
Chris Wilson
I have gone from confused to "head hurting" in 3 posts.... been away from the board a bit recently, and have come back to some bizarre posts, oddly written "dialects" and a rash of posts, (not the above), worthy of pre teen dysfunctional glue sniffers

kylestt
If i see the post right, he is just asking if he can buy an NA driveshaft or a TT driveshaft. The TT 6spd and the NA 5spd use a different driveshaft if i'm not mistaken. Does this help any?
Chris Wilson
The Getrag bit confuses things. I believe he only needs to buy half a propshaft for an N/A to TT conversion, but I think Toyota only sells the full assembly now? Balancing will need re doing if he mixes and matches two halves. dini_the_owl
Thats very true as they are different but can be split at the centre bearing, its easier to sniff out a full 6spd one which is already been balanced etc, i had a local firm do one of mine which cost 120 quid for the conversion and balancing,i may still have a spare getrag front shaft somewhere if you decide to go that route.
