jim_supra
What a waste of a life, and those poor kids will never know their mum. Religion's a wonderful thing isn't it.

hoff
Surely there comes a point when most sane people think "I'd be better off alive and without religion just so that I can care for my children", a tragic story. Absoloutly sums it up. Some people just so crazy when it comes to religion. Im sure she could have been forgiven anyway if she had a blood transfusion given that she would leave 2 children behined without a mother. Im sure god would not want that. Blood transfusions are amazing, a miracle one might say.
jim_supra
At least she died happy. Yep, that's the main thing, she was happy. A good mother should always put herself before her children.
Dragonlady
Religion strikes again! Sometimes I think they should ban religion altogether, it causes so many problems. How many wars have been caused by different beliefs, parents and children lost, all because someone has interpreted the 'big book' to how they want it to read! I don't think the Pope would refuse blood if he needed it and I bet he knows the book inside out. If there was a god, do you think he would want us to go round killing our neighbours! Who was it that said "love thy neighbour":(

hogmaw
Eating / partaking of blood...transfusions apart, the fatal flaw in this interpretation is childbirth, or more specifically, the foetus receiving / exchanging blood via the umbilical cord and mothers placenta. Explain that one Big Jez. Blood between mother and baby isn't mixed. The oxygen and nutritious contents of the mothers blood pass across the placenta into the baby's blood, while CO2 and waste pass from the baby to the mother. Anyway, religion is all bollocks, especially Jehovah's one, just a pack of lies to prop up the weak and needy and is used by the powerful to control the masses. You might as well believe in the fairies at the bottom of the garden. All IMHO of course.
Ady
the rest of the JW's will be jackin off over this story for years to come. She will now be a great figure in the eyes of JW's I think she did it for the publicity :)
Thorin
Religion strikes again! No actually, the media machine strikes again! And you've all been sucked in. The blood transfusion apparently would not have saved her life anyway, therefore the story is completely irrelevant.

Pete
just a pack of lies to prop up the weak and needy and is used by the powerful to control the masses. Sounds ideal to me. Maybe society as a whole would be a better if we could all just agree on a religion and be God fearing, law abiding, morally upstanding individuals. It has to be said, I've not met a JH that hasn't been a pleasant person.

SMiFFAD
I dont care what people do with their own lives, its yours to do what you will with. Its when it affect others its plain selish and morally wrong. This women may have chosen to be a JW, and if she was single and childless, i wouldnt have raised an eyebrow at this on the news this morning, her decision. However, she chose to have children. To me if you have a child you come second to their well being, and to essentially commit suicide and leave two newborn children motherless, just for your religious beliefes is mind boggling, morally wrong, selfish and verging on insane! Personally i believe any god, no matter which one you support will be pro life and pro family. IMHO Religion will destory the world eventually.
