Dnk
I can remember it being 50 odd pence per litre but that was a long time ago In 1977 when i started riding m/bikes it was 77p a gallon and nearly 50% was tax !

robin
The manual for my car says to put in 95 ron or higher. It says I can run it on 91 in an emergency but I should avoid heavy loads.

RedM
I know people say that if you're worried about the price of petrol then you shouldn't have a Supra but it's got to the piss-taking stage now.
NeoFuture
very true RedM it really does take the piss, what REALLY takes the piss is the govement get most of it and spend none of it on fixing the roads to safeguard our nice wheels (which may i add you also pay VAT on both wheels AND tyres)
bluecoup
thought vat went on what they called luxurys ie not kids clothes, how are tyres and wheels luxurys, surly if 10,000 blocked roads etc they would have a hard time finding somewhere to put everyone as they cant even sort out the prisons,
hoff
Its still 102p/litre for v-power here (oswestry, shropshire) and 95p/litre for normal. Im happy enough with that considering what other areas are like. In the next town its 98.9p/litre for normal unleaded.
SupraStormRising
The prices are stupid now and the government is going to be putting another 2p a litre of duty on in the new year ffs The super unleaded is an interesting question I always use 95ron for my N/A but when I was in the USA their highest unleaded was 93ron regular was 84ron. So do US supe owners have to use octane boosters?
Bob
My god, when I see the prices over here (and in Saudi particularly, where petrol is cheaper than drinking water) I realise how bad the UK has become.
Guigsy
US RON is a different scale i think. I was talking to a friend in the us and i worked it out. she pays about $0.55 a litre. (she told me in galons and i dont remember the figure but you have to devide it by 3.7) I told her our petrol was $2 a litre. She just said "People would go mental and the country would shut down" lol
Bobbeh
Cheapest I've found around here is St Albans, around 96.9 a litre for unleaded, most V-Power near my house is like 105.9!

SimonB
You can criticise the french for a lot of things but they would have blockaded the docks by now if it was the same their side of the water. It IS pretty much the same. Last time I was in France petrol was no cheaper there than here.
Wez
I just paid 107.5p for some BP ultimate
