Clean Air on a MKIV

Sharpie

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Can anyone advise what the pros and con's are of the different air induction kits. I see that Apexi and HKS seem to be popular but, would appreciate some real experiences.

This will be my first mod to my (UK stock car), which I want to do myself but, have never got my hands dirty before. Is there anything I should look out for ? Is this easy to do ?

I plan to get purchase a downpipe and exhaust system next but, will let a supplier do this work.

Thanks.

I Just put on a Blitz Sonic induction kit, was meant for a j-spec but i got it on no probs, it sits just by the air intake and is shielded from the heat to. Sounds great and no loss of performance! a little gain i feel. ( £300 though it wasn't cheap)

Sry i haven't got a digi camera yet, but all i did was not use the metal bend that the J-spec would use. The Airflow metre staying in roughly the same place, the guy at racelogic was unsure about the fitting but its fine, i have now run 1k on it and no probs, stays cool even in traffic in the hot weather we've been having, and it sits just perfect for the air to reach it - better than where the j-spec would sit. If u need anymore help just gimme a shout.

Cheers

Yeah heat shild sits where the two bolts by the air intake on the right, you have to remove the shield at the top front of the Rad when you take the air box off. It fits a treat. i am gonna get a camera tomorrow and take some pics!
