carl0s
Need nice car to replace aging 318i, which unfortunately we're spending £140 on for MOT tomorrow anyway Must have power, ideally 6 or more cylinders, although turbo 4cl is nice, as would be an S2000 Must be less than £4,000 though. Alfa GTV 3.0 V6 with teledial wheels and aerokit is lovely, worrying engine/cambelt stuff but other than that super, just aren't any at right price on the trader except for a cat-D one Really want something small and sexy like the GTV, but needs back seats, so Spider, S2000, SLK etc are no good (and too expensive anyway). Any ideas folks?
carl0s
Not sure about FTOs. They're just not quite sexy.
carl0s
They're bloody cheap though, and V6, and have GTV-esque back seats. Hmmm.
michael
Replace 2 of the cylinders with a turbo and get a ST205 GT4.
carl0s
She had put a Celica on her possible list. I just can't get past the not-quite-Supra thing, but I suppose they are 4wd. Would you?
carl0s
OK, I see GT4 on autotrader, but what does the ST205 signify? Was that a particular edition of GT4?
RobSheffield
ST205 is the 4 headlight version mate

carl0s
ST205 is the 4 headlight version mate Thanks. Hmmm. They just look a bit dated that's all. I guess they're bloody fast though, and 4wd is super.
carl0s
aristo tt cheap on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MESE:IT&ih=015 eBay is being a spaz - "Page not responding". Tried it eight times already, but I was bidding on a mk2 Aristo on eBay and didn't win. Not so sure about the mk1s.

I would, it's still on the list of cars I plan to own at some point. http://www.parkovka.info/wp-content/uploads/2006/03/celica_gt_four.jpg

carl0s
GT4 is a definite possibility then. I hope they're reliable. Choice below £4k is a bit restricted, but some nice looking ones out there. Any other thoughts?
carl0s
this aristo is really nice with full leather and 77k untouched check my garage To be honest I reckon I'd go for a Soarer before a mk1 Aristo.
R Black
Both GT4 & Soarers look like good value
TLicense
GT4's are very reliable, as long as they're not fecked about with. Personally, I prefer the ST185's looks (which is why I had one!) but trying to find an unmolested one of those nowadays is like looking for the preverbial rocking horse excrement. Are they easily BPU'd ? Injectors and turbos happy to have the boost raised slightly like the Supra, or should they be left well alone?
