Thanks for those pointers Class One, I had an interested hour or two reading though the stuff. This is my newbie-like interpretation of what I read:

Seems Like bijal had problems with client communication, and in particular a dislike of him mainly by michel lane, whose complaints, amongst others, I felt he rebutted adeptly. Main problems seem to be more about business style rather than than the quality of his work

Actually he blew up a couple of cars as well, not sure if they made it into the discussion threads. Also the mapping work was roundly criticised by pretty much anyone else who ever looked at the results. As for his adept rebuttals you never read "the HKS turbo rules all" thread then, where:

"yes the hks turbo by far is the best in the market. i have said this time and time again and proven it but some people seem to think its the same as the garret based versions which is not true and totally incorrect. certain threads have been proven and shut a few people up in the debate on hks turbos."

Turned into:

"no specific controlled test has been ever conducted by myself"

and

" i did state that i have proven that the hks units are far better, but one thing i made a mistake in not noting was to say that it was to myself, hence IT WAS MY OPINION. The test wasnt in a lab"

Shame it took ten pages of bullshit and lying to get to that mild cough-over. (http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=74138 if you are remotely interested)

So I don't agree with your conclusion but welcome anyway and I'll see you in tech ;)

500hp is possible.

maybee 1run on stocks at 3,0bar

Actually completely incorrect. No matter how much you crank the boost up on the stock turbo's once you pass their maximum efficiency range thats it. You can try and force more air through them if you like but all it will achieve is excessive heat. It has the same effect really as these idiots that put 6" exhausts on 1 litre saxo's you actually lose power.

hehe, thats too involved for me, fed up with looking at past bijal related threads.

"See you in tech" I like that, guess i have been pigeonholed already :)

And as for him allegedly blowing a couple of customers cars up, I'll try my best not to think about that when I drive my shiney new soop down from Doncaster on Thursday.

:)Yeah CJ, get it now, will prob head there today and not even got the car yet.

Caveat Emptor.

That clutch he sold you was "sold as seen" right Gord, to one of your friends on your behalf, which you then had installed to your car, and wasn't fit for purpose?

Whatever, the case, I love it that "modding" cars seems slightly naughty, in that some (or most) manufacturers say that they only approve of genuine Toyota/nissan/ford approved parts. It's like (for me) that the manufacter is the mother, and you are the naughty child modding yourself. Like coloring your hair green to rebel, except this time its with your car. lol. :)

Are you Bijal?

What gets me is an entire forum tell newbies that XYZ is an untrustworthy scrote yet they defend XYZ or say "I'll reserve judgement until I experience my own personal doomsday myself". It's not like we make money out of posting these warnings.

No, Im not bijal.

Just a newb that is buying a car tuned by bijal. And yeah your right I do have a reckless attitude as to whether the car will blow up (- I think it won't but hey, nothing like a big bang to brighten up your day), but having read the threads posted by class one, I feel that bijal's problems were not technical ones, more service delivery ones, and this is based on what I have read here, including his tradesperson renewal survey responses.

I appreciate the warning about bijal, its always better to warn isn't it. I dont think your doing it for fun or money, and I know your just trying to help guys like me out. But I decided that I really want this car, and don't really believe that he is incompetent. But we will see. I have driven the car, and got jamesmark (very greatful to him for that) to check it out from here. The test, I guess will be over time, and just a little accelerator abuse from me. :)

Just goes to show, some people cant be told....

I was told, and heard. Thanks for the warning. But at the end of the day, I have made a decision where both my heart and my head are satisfied. Buying a second hand 1995 car off ebay for 12 grand was never going to be an easy decision for me. But I feel I have made the right choice and of course accept full responsibility for this.

Thanks guys.

Not sure maybe.. Remember Bijal? Well the wideboy supra that this thread is about was apparently tuned by him. I love the car, and am purchasing it for 12k. It will be my first supra mkiv. People from here have been warning me about bijal's work. They have mentioned faults in his workmanship, and even talked about cars blowing up that were allegedly tuned by him. I however still want the car, so am buying it.

That's it I think.

The problems were technical, but anyway I don't want to get drawn into that discussion :D

You paid £12k for that car, ouch! You could have got a single converted car for that sort of money (not sure if you were after one though...)

I did advise in a PM that he should contact someone such as Jurgen, because he would get a lot of car for 12k....

As far as the attitude of modded cars going pop... guess he will be good for traders on here :taped:

I looked at Jurgen's cars but the prices were all in yen, and japanese text, could not be bothered to work out the actual prices. Anyway. This car is a lot of car. I dont think it's missing anything. apart from good taste some would say. But as far as power goes this is plenty. I know it's a cavalier attitude, and that I should spend time getting the most car for my money, but widearch veilside in black 6 speed manual with fat tyres just speaks to my soul.

I don't think it will "go pop" though to be honest, if it does, it's only a car. And I don't expect anyone to endorse the cars reliabilty here since you all now know it's bijal heritage. But then, I don't appear to care if its endorsed or not lol.

Did you manage to haggle on that price much Carl?

I see from his ebay advert he didnt get past £7.5k so you should of been able to of made him a silly offer which i expect he would of taken.

TBH there are some very well priced supes on here atm and i would of wanted a nice VVTI for that money. You would be suprised at the difference between a non VVTI & a VVTI.

You would have enough change from alot of the supes advertised to of done the mods you wanted (£1k for BPU) and speak to Nik for veilside stuff.

In the end though if you love the car & are happy thats the main thing.

Good luck on thursday & go easy with that right foot at least for a while;)

I'm no good at haggling bishop, and I thought it was worth 12k so............... and that was my top limit anyway.

I thought a vvti was a gain in about 60 BHP? but nothing much else? Whats the truth?

Yeah, and also, I'd much rather buy an already modded supe than go though the stress of having it modded up myself and have nothing to drive.

thanks for the encouraging words mate. Will take care of the car and myself.
