A bit of Firework law

Some stuff I wasn't aware of until tonight...

http://www.dti.gov.uk/fireworks/law.htm

Under the Fireworks Regulations 2004, it is an offence to let off fireworks after 11PM on all but 4 days of the year and can attract a fine of £80.

The 4 exceptions are :

(a) beginning at 11 pm on the first day of the Chinese New Year and ending at 1 am the following day;

(b) beginning at 11 pm on 5th November and ending at 12 am the following day;

© beginning at 11 pm on the day of Diwali and ending at 1 am the following day; or

(d) beginning at 11 pm on 31st December and ending at 1 am the following day.

Strange... I can hear fireworks and it's 11:30.

I'm just hoping none of those 8ft long super rocket sticks fall on the car....

Maybe the scrotes round my way live in a different time zone, 3am last night and I'm expecting more of the same tonight.

About time they stopped shops like Asda from selling them to all chav and sundry. You should need to apply for a licence or something to hold a display and then only with a licence you are permitted to purchase them. God I'm getting old!

A set of these rules should be printed on every box and every firework, it might catch the attention of a few literate people at least.

I do love that smell you get on a cold morning after the bonfires though.

Well, to all those people who've enjoyed their fireworks tonight...perhaps you'd like to have come round to my house and helped me clear up the dog piss and shit all over the kitchen floor, because they wouldn't go out into the garden, because of your fucking bangers.

There was a 'exciting' event here last year :

I was waiting for it to happen again, and thought we'd see the police everywhere, but no sign of the police or the pyrotechnic chavs... Plenty of fireworks though, saved me a fiver going to the racecourse to watch the display... Maybe the chavs learnt to aim upwards this year :D

That's a f###ing awful and tragic story. I'd have taken photos of her and put them through every door in the area. Then the parents could try explaining that to their kids.

I had my own bonfire on saturday night, just me by myself. No fireworks. It was lovely. Unfortunately, I my hair stank of smoke all evening after we went out to the pub. I've still got loads of stuff to go on there, so I may have another one this evening :)

Just ash on mine, which is annoying because I washed it yesterday and I'll have to do it again now.

The very same happened to me, but as it was my bonfire that did it, so I can't really get too annoyed. Bugger it!

That is just so sad. Sorry for your loss like that.

My dog was ok, but she's almost got constipation as she won't go out at all at the moment. Poor things. :(

EDIT: same time next year then?! :rolleyes:

Me and the cat had an evening of loud music to drown it out which was interupted every 5 minutes by me going to the garage via the back door in order to set off the security light and blind the cockends setting fireworks off at the end of my back garden.

Why don't they all just get together and have one big display on the playing fields 5 minutes walk away?

So just tonight to go and then the sporadic week of people using up old stock and sale fireworks before it starts again 11:45 > 2am at New Year.
