jazz1
well all sorted now payed a deposit today, paying in four installments. Every insurance company i tryed came up with stupid quotes of 8k,6k etc, half wouldnt insure me stating im not over 30 or 25. Well then i tryed greenlight who gave me a quote of 1700 but then when i told them i have not driven the supra before they wouldnt insure me:(. All done now with adrian flux 1960 im 22, 2 years no claims, including my 3 points and modifications limited mileage 2,000 a year with 525 xs oh and my car is RZ facelift TT

juanchan
well thats the price i pay to drive it, at the end of the day i know i will get stopped by police everytime at least i have a piece of mind knowing im fully insured:) I've not been stopped in 12 months and I don't really look my age - I still get ID'd everywhere I go on Fridays and Saturdays! My mate in his octavia vrs got stopped within a fortnight of buying it I'm not sure I could live with 2000 miles a year though - I'm hoping to rack up nearly 900 in the next 9 days! Enjoy them while they last!
jazz1
yep thats why im just going to love being stopped and see there grumpy faces when they see i have insurance:d
Whitesupraboy2
but then when i told them i have not driven the supra before they wouldnt insure me:(. I thought you said in some posts youve driven it before? Anyway that price is mental having said that due to my change from NA to TT last year i ended up paying close to what you did Jazz, so i hope you get the drop I did this year! You should of put limited mileage up to 4000k bet it would of been about £20 difference! I bet the person who took that insurance out on phone was whispering to his colleagues 'psst have a look at this'
Guest mk47
f*ck me jazz try a quote with CIS? im insured for 10,000 miles a year for just over 1.
MarkR
Mine was £740 for a year with sky and all mods listed!
Guest mk47
Im never calling sky again. I called them earlier this year (i was 21) and they said that they wont insure me as im not 25, but im sure there are under 25s on here who are insured with them. Guest sunnyG83
MK47 i was insured with Sky at the age of 22 years old on my facelift-tt with bpu for £1300 1 year NCD and now that im 24 years old it now £870 with 3 years No claims. Jazz mate what did Elephant quote you and did you try Zurich.
jazz1
guys honestly i know its alot but that was the only choice most companies wouldnt touch me seeing as i have 3 points for driving without care which was bollocks no accident involved neither did i speed. I tryed elephant all the companies online aswell as on the phone and most of them wouldnt touch me. If they did quote me it would be something stupid like 8 grand, which was the highest quote i had. Anyways at least i get to drive the car that i love without hassle from the police:d. Next year on renewal would be great as i would have experience on the supra and hopefully it would be much cheaper

I was 23 when I took out my first Supra policy with them. They refused to give me a quote for my renewal (which is up in about 5 weeks) when I rang them this week though. Something to do with they wouldn't re-quote until they had the renewal papers through from Ensign?! The quotes I've got online are about 30% cheaper than I paid for this last year, so they've got a fair bit to do to keep me on tbh.

Thats funny, Ensign dont insure anyone on a Supra under 30.....so they told me the other day, and even for a 30 year old, which I am they quoted £2900 through Sky, yet A Plan quoted me for £900 with Ensign.......they make this shit up as the feeling takes them..... It certainly feels that way. I spoke to a lady who sounded exactly like the recorded message "Welcome to Sky Insurance, we are...", can't remember her name, but she said they had to get the renewal papers through before being able to quote me. I'm not sure how they quoted me a year ago when I had no policy with Ensign to renew...

Havard
Why did you tell Greenlight that you hadn't driven the car? What's that got to do with anything. Surely you were asking for a policy to cover you for that car whether you'd driven it or not....!! When I got insured on my car I never even thought to mention anything like that tbh! I had never had anything over 140Bhp! H.
jazz1
well even if i lied i would of got caught out as when posting my two year no claims it shows i had them on a nissan micra no supra

Havard
I just don't understand how they would offer you a policy on the basis that you'd driven it before. Most people haven't driven a particular model of car before they got insured on it.... If all insurance companies had that attitude then we'd all have 1.0L Fiesta's...... H.
