Started Running!

Well the good life has finally caught up with me.......:D I don't know how much I weigh and probably don't want to know. I need to lose some weight and my love of Chinese Banquests, Chocolate, Cider and anything else that is really bad for you must take a backseat!!

In March I bought a suit for work and had to get a 36" waist for the first time. I set myself a personal goal that by the time I need a replacement suit I'll be back in 34"s and fit as a fiddle! Guess what? I am now struggling to get in my 36's.....:(. I now have bigger breasts than Mrs H....;) Looks like my days of getting pissed and sufing the forum with a plate full of crisps are over for the time being...

I want to go back to the gym but I can't see where the time will come from tbh. Tonight I did a 2 mile run in *cough* minutes and had to stop about 5 times as i was breathing out of my arse!......

I play 5 a side once a week but it just isn't cutting it against my lifestyle. I am 6ft and was about 14.1/2 stone a couple of months back. What weight do you think I should be for my height? Also, any runners know how quickly I should be doing a 2 mile run/jog??

Thanks Rich....:D

I was 33 last week. When I was 28 I had knee trouble and the doctor told me that I was overwight and that playing football with an extra 2 stone was fooking my knees!

I got down from 14st 12lb to 12st 12lb in about 2 months but people kept asking me if I was ill etc. I went to the gym, played 5 a side 3 times a week and improved my diet but now with 2 kids under 5 and a reps job I am finding it really hard to keep on track!!

I also love my grub!!:innocent:

Well, I'm not a runner but I do 2 miles in about 16 minutes (on a treadmill). So I'd certainly expect you to be able to do it in under 20 once you get a bit fitter.

Well done mate:thumbs: get cracking at it.

I recently started running at the gym. Only started in August, never ran before (except 5-aside occassionally) and to start with 2km was a struggle, but I can now do 10km in 42 mins. Bloody kills me though!! (Also lost 3 inches from waist in 2 months, but I have been going 3 times a week)

Ooh, not bad then. I did my first 2 mile run for about a year in 22 mins. Although I did feel like I was going to die as I reached my drive!

That's good going mate! A couple of years back when I actually used my gym membership, me and a mate were trying to crack 5km in 20 mins - he did it, but I couldn't get below 21 mins without dying afterwards. I should really get back into it. I'm a skinny guy, but everyone tells me that as soon as I hit 25 in a few months that'll all change.

I know how you feel matey :( TBH as soon as i hit 21 i think my metabolism didn't slow down or stop i think it died or moved to another country! As it doesn't matter what i do I'm still err chunky :innocent: I eat a diet which is under 2000kals a day, is full of fruit and veg, chicken, fresh home made soup for dinner etc etc I go to the gym 4 times a week (just got back, 10km in 47mins) i walk the three peaks (24miles) last week!

I hope your more successful than me with the whole weight loss :)
