VIL
Guys has anyone with a PS3 had any reliability issues with their console? Myself and a mate of mine are keen Xbox players and to be fair probably use the console every night, but over the past 12-18 months the Xbox has failed no less than 5 times and has had to be sent back each time! Which is just unacceptable. With this in mind, has anyone had any similar experiences with the PS3 as I think I am going to get one now in favor of the 360 but I would be well p*****d off if it had similar failure rate issues. I dont think it has, but anyones experience would be helpful.
DaveK
Mine has been perfect since I bought it - think I've had it since April, or somewhere around then. But - to be honest, I don't use it much. Easily less than 50 hours total in all that time I should think.
Havard
I was looking for a 360 a couple of months ago but after seeing the number of failures mentioned I have decided to get a PS3 in the Spring!! H.
edd_t
touch wood, ive had my 360 since launch date, and its crashed only once! never had a problem with it, and i probably play atleast 25 hours a week on it (i have no life ) do you keep your 360 in cool place? not sitting on other things like dvd players and stuff that would heat it up. johnnyknox
agree also ps3 games dont charge you to play online as for 360 they do, and the 360 doesnt have grand theft auto:) It does have GTA Jazz. The online is only £39.99 for the year and that's a bargain I think. I'm not anti Sony, but I much prefer the 360 at the moment. Cheaper games, a far superior online gaming interface and a shed load more GOOD games to select from.

colsoop
This is whats stopping me getting a ps3 lack of well known games i think Sony dropped a ball on that front. Metal gear solid 4, gta gran turismo etc. they are all "on the way" i am going to wait till they are hear first.
AndrewOW
I have no knowledge of the 360, but my original Playstation (1996), PS2 (2001) are still working perfectly, so I'd imagine the PS3 will have as good a reliability as those. I'm best pleased with my Nintendo Wii though. Fabulous!

Muffleman
I dread even mentioning this as sods law is never far away, but had my 360 ages and it's never missed a beat or had any problems at all.

MrHanky
No idea on PS3 reliability but I would imagine that its pretty good. My first 360 died after a year and was sent back. I then received a new 360 which is still doing fine. Also have one for my son which is working fine at the minute. We play between 10 and 20 hours per week (I spend more time on it than he does becasue of his early bed time etc). You do have to make sure that they receive plenty of ventilation as this is what typically kills them. My brother Cable has both and I am impressed with the PS3 (especially Blu-ray), but there just aren't enough games out yet. I think this will always be the case as the development time required to code for the PS3 is a lot longer than for the Xbox 360.
spidermonkey
my 360 had the '3 rings of death' just as Forza 2 was released but it was fixed free of charge, it's to do with the was the motherboard was mounted (something like that) and it has been 'sorted out' now, i would like a PS3 though but im waiting for decent games

Supranature
Try checking out the forum on yahoo, it has input from nerdy gamers from a world-wide source. I have used it a few times, very good. I have a 360 which has never faltered...................doh!
Daston
use my PS3 every night never had a problem. I have had 2 360's and both of them had to go back. Personally I think the 360 was a massive let down and in fairness false advertisment at its best

Daston
It was released as the ultimate console along with full HD support Full HD support would be HDMI the original 360 dosnt have that so now people have to shell out another £300 for something that the original should have done. Plus £80 for a wifi! You can pick up USB wifi cards for laptops for £10!
