How can i remove the annoying buzzer that sounds with key in ign.?

Does anybody know how to remove or turn off the buzzer which sounds ding ding ding when you insert the key in the ign.switch when you have the door open? Its really annoying.

It is buried fairly deep within the wiring loom under the dash, I seem to remember it was in the wiring bundle on the arch, but could be wrong. It is no easy job.

I read somewhere that theirs a plug in the ignition barrell and if you remove this plug the sound will go out. Can somebody confirm this?

Yes, thats what i did

 

The plug from memory is on the end of the barrell.

What colour is the plug?

I did this over a year ago. I think it was either a clear or black plug, with either 1 or 2 wires going to it. Not much help i know

 

But it was right on the end of the barrell

jam a paper clip or similar into the plastic bit where the door catches the lock, if that makes sense

We removed the connector at the key cylinder and the ding ding just stopped annoying the hell out of us
