juanchan
Has anyone here had experience of these, or of Admiral in general? I've just done their online quote thing for both my cars and it seems surprisingly cheap - nearly £250 cheaper for the Supra than my current insurance with Sky! I do hit the magic 25 in my next year of driving though.
DaveK
I got a quote when the 964 insurance was due and just the 964 part was way more than everywhere else.

juanchan
The Supra part of their multi quote is by far the cheapest I've had for it so far. I've yet to ring Sky for a renewal quote yet, but it's nearly £100 cheaper than the quote I've had from Elephant, who were the cheapest last year (they just out-quoted Sky, but not by a lot, and they didn't seem to know what a Supra was, so I steered clear )

miko_supra
yup im, with admiral. i have both my cars with them. They are pretty much elephant and very helpful and friendly. and when you make any changes to the policies (i've changed my car with them a couple of times on this policy), they are happy to do so with no admin charge. Todd
phoned admiral yesterday to get my MR2 insured with them (also got my main car with them) they quoted £245 using multicar. Phoned Sky and they managed £295 and that's without any NCD on the car, going to phone them back and see if they can bring it down a bit. Admiral will not replace modifications, even if declared they will only replace with standard parts.
juanchan
Admiral will not replace modifications, even if declared they will only replace with standard parts. The only mod on my car are the wheels, and if worst came to worst, I'd live with stock wheels. But it could be an issue if I took a step down the slippery slope in the next 12 months. VELOCITY
I have got mulicar insurance on the Supra (all mods declared), Mini Cooper S works and my old Rover 600. All of which were cheaper that anybody else.
Gordon F
I have Admiral Multicar and couldn't find anyone who came anywhere close to their quote. A tad over £700 for the Supra (GZ stock 10k miles pa), the missus 02 tdi Golf Estate and my new Leon Tdi FR, fully comp, and protected no claims. The Supra alone was more than that when I bought it six years ago, and I had full ncb then. Sky were miles off.
SimonB
Admiral are notorious for quoting for a MkIII Supra instead of a MkIV, or for a UK rather than an import, especially on their on-line thing. At least they used to be, so worth double checking with them that they've got it right.
n boost
Admiral are notorious for quoting for a MkIII Supra instead of a MkIV, or for a UK rather than an import, especially on their on-line thing. At least they used to be, so worth double checking with them that they've got it right. I had the same problem with churchill. They quoted me on a mk3 even though i told them it was a mk4 tt. I only realised about 5 months in to my policy when i rang up about mods i was planning to do.
DJButler
Well pleased with my Multicar quote, £195 for a 94 N/A and just over £220 for my Saab 2.3 turbo. Last year cost me £308 for the Sup and £378 for the Saab. Got the paperwork today and it all looks fine, i can afford to fill both cars up this week! ADL Mark
Blimey Just done a quote (not up for renewal until November) and they're quoting £350 less on the Supra and only £80 more a year than I'm paying now to insure the Supra and my diesel Pug at the same time. Very nice
madmunky
Im with them too, I pay around £900 for my supra with all mods declared and also my MG ZS 180 mk2 which has business insurance. Defently cheapest I found. Also if you want temp cover on a car its around £15 for a week
ShamelessTT
Ive been with Admiral for 2 years plus, very pleased with them and im Multi car aswell They werent the cheapest when i renewed, but i trust the quality of the covrer. They were also happy to fight my case (and win) when someone pulled out in front of me. (Was in my other car and i dodged them, but clipped someone else in the process so it was 50:50)
DaveSupTT
Im with Admiral and they were £400 cheaper than sky! Admiral in general was about £650 cheaper than anyone else as well. Been with Admiral for about 6yrs now maybe. Never had a problem with them, and when I had a drink driver write my stationary car off (after 2 weeks of me owning my new 200sx at the time) they sorted it out for me. Although they firstly offered me a silly pay out figure, which i regected, so they said send in other cars at the figure I reckon its worth and they would match it - which they did. Paul
I've been with Bell Direct (part of Admiral) for years on my Supra, very good prices with mods declared:) Just renewed for £250 comp with protected NCB

ADL Mark
Does anybody know if they include third party cover on other people's cars (with persmission?). My current Ensign policy doesn't and it's annoying..
