QSC
Getting a very odd squealing noise at about 2500 revs, not all the time, but enough times to worry about - sounds like the sort of noise a cat makes when it's not very happy - rather worrying - could it be turbo leak ? I do have an Apexi induction kit (go on, ask me why)

gaz1
i had that it turned out to be a slit in the boost hose, she was screeching through that;)

QSC
curiouser and curiouser - been to the local turbo specialist place & was told that a turbo leak would make the noise all the time, and a drive belt slipping would be heard from startup. Drove around trying my best to get it to make the same noise again, & it just wouldn't do it - very odd ?

Drove around trying my best to get it to make the same noise again, & it just wouldn't do it - very odd ? That isn't strictly speaking true... at the moment the weather is very cold, which could result in a pipe being stiff and not flexible enough to allow the air out. As the engine/weather warms up the pipe would become more flexible, bear in mind it might be a TINY little hole...
Ben-san
Is it more of a moan than a squeal? I had the same experience with mine for a while, during cold weather. It turned out to be 'wolfing', which is a bit of a phenomenon with Supras. Wolfing is a sort of blowing over a bottle top effect happening somewhere around the intake box. This may not be your issue though, because as you say, it's more like a squeal.
MarkR
Search on the forum for the BOV wooing sound. Might be that?
QSC
The thing is that it doesn't do it all the time, but when it does it's always at 2500 revs - it sounds like the horrible noise a cat makes when it's eating a bird...
MarkR
Mine did exactly that. At 2500rpm (usually when coldish) it used to make a resonating sound. When I change the standard BOV to an HKS one, it stopped. When I put the std BOV back on, it started again. See here... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=102950&highlight=resonating
QSC
After all that, just a clip missing on a boost hose causing leak...
