Matt H
Id love to believe in life after death, it would give you something to hold on too (have i just re-invented religion?! ) Anyway, i dont, its not feasible, sucks, but the truth is, you die and thats it Well suppose parts of your body might find there way eventually into another body, Im hoping to be part of Kelly Brooks daughters daughters daughers nipple (fingers crossed)
Gerry
Personally I think it's fine for people to belive in an afterlife, God, aliens, NA's are as good as TT's etc, as long as they don't try to dictate to others their beliefs and especially harm people who don't agree with them. This includes shooting, bombing, beating to death with sticks and cutting people heads off all in the name of "***" (insert your fav religion here). If people need "an answer" especially in times of need like a death etc and it helps them, I think thats fine. I'm happy not to speculate what will happen to me (apart from the obvious, fire / worms etc) all I know is that I'll be doing the same thing as millions of great people before me. The interesting thing is that in all probability I'll know before most of you (51 yo) Best to have as good as time as you can whilst your here (and help other to have one) just in case it's not as good you think it may be when your'e dead. mattanna
I am not sure with all of it, i have seen a lot of people dead and dying though, so far none have come back to tell us what it is like, one day we will all find out, but if their is nothing you won't know as you will be just gone, you only have to worry if there is something good and bad, and you get the bad, but i do know that in bible times they all drank wine etc as water was unsafe so they were probably pissed up a lot, no wonder they saw people walking on water and producing 5000 loaves etc!! Supragal
I have to say that I don't have an issue with people who do believe, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. My sister 'found God' after a serious accident. Personally I think it was more that she was struggling with fitting back into society afterwards, and the church welcomed her with open arms, whereas most people thought she was a freak, so she kind of found herself friends. She's really involved now, helps with the church groups etc. Woe betide anyone who uses the Lords name in vain now! Including me, "For God sake" "Jesus Christ!" etc, gets me a good proper slap!!! colsoop
I think you have to determine what you mean by "life" i was reading somebodys view (i can't remember his name) and he described the human body as just a vessle. The essence of life is totally seperate from the physical side that we know of. I thought that was quite a nice thought. We all know when somebody close to us dies and we see there lifeless body somehow they just don't look real anymore like their essence has gone, perhaps to a new body or on to a better place. There are a lot of things we can't comprehend or explain but man tries to find a way to explain it even if it isn't possible.
grahamc
I just find it hard to believe that there is nothing after life... Energy has to go somewhere.
Supragal
It does, into the ground and plants grow from it. Same as when you compost stuff, you reuse the compost and the nutrients from the dead stuff to regrow new stuff. Circle of life.
AJI
I just find it hard to believe that there is nothing after life... Energy has to go somewhere. a lot of these John Edwards crossing over type shows use the word ENERGY. Energy is defined as a capacity to do work and has the units of Joules. 1 joule is the work done in lifting 1 newton to a height of 1m. Energy is always conserved and is tranferred from one form to another. In the case of dying this translates to the energy created by the body through sugar and oxygen running out as your lungs and bodily functions are not able to do the necessary chemical reactions any more. So in effect as your body dies so do the chemical reactions that produce energy.... so energy doesn't 'go' anywhere it just stops being produced so to speak. Any latent energy goes into rigor-mortis through a number of chemical reactions which is why after they all dye out your body goes cold. All rather macabre, but it is what happens. stupra
I'm undecided on life after death, but that's just me about most thing's... If people believe in life after death, then that's up to them, but I can't see how they believe in the whole Heaven and Hell thing. If you believe in God, then you believe he is divine, and that he forgive's all for their sin's. If this is the case how is there a Hell ?, surely everyone will be forgiven and be allowed into Heaven...
Lbm
Life after death, ghosts, even religion... ffs I can't believe that in this day and age people still believe in outdated, non-proven hearsay myths fantasy and mumbo jumbo gobbledegook to explain something just because it's unexplainable in rational, common sense or easy-to-understand terms. Can't you just understand that, like lots of other things, we just haven't sussed everything out yet? Science and modern day thinking has explained millions of things (repeat MILLIONS) of things in the last few hundred years that previously were 'explained' by scripture, myth and outright lies. Yet here we are in 2007 and there are still millions of people on the planet that believe in pretty much the same nonsense as primitive man ie god(s), life-after-death, ghosts etc. They forget the fact that as each day goes by, our understanding of the world increases, chipping away at the the Great Ignorance upon which is built religion and superstition. It beggars belief [sic], it really does. Very well put sir! Now then...Derek Acorah??? Idiot Colin Fry...Idiot John Edward..Idiot! Ps For those who "BELIEVE"...my new book "Life after death is really really real, honest!" is available. Only £5000 each See you on the otherside then. Rob
Life after death? Ghostwatch's Yvette Fielding certainly came back from post-Blue Peter TV death Funny you should say that, I saw a Most Haunted episode the other week, from Dartford Library (Keith C will be quite familar with the building, he became quite intimate with it in his MKIII days). Now I lived in Dartford for some 35 years and have heard all the bullshit stories about the local graveyards, smallpox burial pits, plague pits, the hauntings on the council estate that made national TV, but I never heard anything about the Library. However once Fielding and her crew turn up, lo and behold, it's one of the most haunted buildings in the UK. Why, it's like the Crewe station of the underworld in the there.
