CJ
As most will know, I moved from the UK to Kos about 5 months ago. During my time out here one question that I get regularly asked by tourists is, "what do you miss about the UK"? I have my own answers to that but taking away people (family and friends), if you moved to Greece, what do you think you would miss about the UK? CJ
the cold, wet weather? Well, we may not have cold per se but we do have a little bit of rain on occasion.

CJ
Foreigners!! Don't worry, the Greeks have their own problems with immigration (albeit on a much smaller scale) with Albanians

CJ
The things I miss are: 1. The greenery 2. Driving through Oxfordshire on a lovely Sunday afternoon 3. Sunday shopping 4. Tesco's 5. Watching Leeds United
JustGav
I know I should probably be more patriotic, but returning the UK for hasn't been all I expected. I left SA in a shower of bullets (Not so much metophorically speaking either, was hijacked a few times).... Since moving back to the UK 10 years ago, I've spent 2 of it in the US in New york city. I certainly don't recall walking past schools on my way to the office in NYC and seeing kids swearing, shouting, spitting, fighting like you do here. Maybe I just hoped for too much from my memory of when I used to visit the Uk at christmas each year when I was growing up. Even in South Africa though, there seemed to be more respect from the kids to the adults.

It took me a while to get used to the "avrio - tomorrow" syndrome.

CJ
They are playing well CJ, marching on together and all that I know! Bloody marvellous eh? I am 2500 miles away and they start friggin winning! I am back in December for a couple of weeks and will be going to the home game against Bristol Rovers. Knowing my luck, they will probably get beat or be held to 0-

juanchan
4. Tesco's My parents went to Prague a couple of weeks back. In one of their stories about what they did, they casually threw in the comment "it was a bit late so we got some food in Tesco's before heading back to the hotel". I know Tesco's are currently hell bent on world domination, but I didn't realise they were much further than northern France!
Class One
Apart from the obvious as you state Col, I would miss in no particular order, The Seasons, especially Autumn, it has been particularly spectacular this year in Oxon, free healthcare, decent wine, erm..... CJ
My salary, otherwise nothing. TBH, that was a big decision for me too as I was on a fairly hefty salary but as the cost of living is so much cheaper out here, you can live on a lot less. Lets put it this way, I can get by on 700 euro per month - and that includes my rent and all my bills etc.

Mmmm...seasons? Like the torrential downpours in Summer? Healthcare is not too much of an issue either as we get recipricoll (sp) arrangements with the UK.
