Hi Guys

Following on from Homers thread really.

I've just purchased the following:

2 x Corsair 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 XMS2 Memory Non-ECC Unbuffered CL5(5-5-5-12) Heat Spreader Lifetime Warranty

1 x Extra Value Nvidia 8800GTX 768MB GDDR3 Dual DVI PCI-E Graphics Card OEM

1 x Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 G0 Stepping (2.4GHz 1066MHz) Socket 775 L2 8MB Cache (2x4MB (4MB per core pair) Retail Boxed Processor

1 x Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R Socket 775 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard

1 x Arctic Cooling AC-FRZ-7P Freezer 7 Pro Socket 775 Processor Cooler

1 x Zalman ZM-STG1 Thermal Grease

Can anybody recommend anything else i might need? or if the above spec should be decent enough, im mainly just putting it together to run the newest games and will probably buy another 8800GTX next month

Thoughts, suggestions?

Ric

I wonder how Crysis will run on that? :) What sort of cost are you looking at for those bits?

Slightly diverting here but overclockers do some beefy gaming PCs. :)

Covers the recomended spec quite well.

My only thought would have been to have got a duel rather than a quad core as there is not much that uses multicore tech. At a later date you can just drop one in :)

I wont tell you the new 8800GT is out on monday, is faster, less power hungry and is in some cases £100 cheaper than a GTX

Just read a few reviews and pre release demo comparisons, the GT will beat the GTS but the GTX is still better, according to those, so who knows
