jaymdee
I've got a Hitatchi 32" Plasma, which is about 2.5 years old now - can't fault the picture. LCD weren't as good as Plasma when I got this.

jamesmark
The Samsung range are excellent and true HD 1080dp. Nice and sleek gloss black. Curry's or Comet (can't remember which one it is) do them for about £1k and you get either a 5.1 or a dvd player plus glass smoked stand.

Scott
Depends on how much you have to spend. The new Sony Bravia models are coming up trumphs just now but they are costly. (1800 for 46") Scott =op

Branners
indeed, my parents have the Samsung and it came preset for HD content so the picture was set for the high level of detail when they dont even have HD. I fiddled about with the settings and its much better now. JB
Jake
Have you tried the picture settings from over on avforums, it took me quite a while to get a good picture Is that specifically for the Samsung or for all LCDs? The picture quality on my 37" LCD JVC is nothing to write home about, especially considering it's a £1700 model.

It will then normally then have a settings thread for your particular model
MrHanky
This was one of the best TV's of last year (and is still amazing now). My brother and friend both have this and it does have a great picture. New ones are coming out, so the price keeps going down. Great value for money IMO. Pabs
sorry to drag up an old-ish thread...... Do people still rave about this Samsung model? Can anyone give me the exact model number to find out latest price etc? I want a 40/42" LCD that is FULL HD. I also want a decent DVD player to go with it, and I want to wall mount it. Not bothered about sound quality as I have an awesome surround-sound system already. Ta

Pabs
Has anyone got one of the later Samsung models - the M87 / F87 ranges? Are they a big improvement over this model - I do read on AV forums that Samsungs seem to be a 50% chance of getting one that actually works properly.... Anyone here had a bad set? Scott
TBH if you have the money i would go for one of the Panasonic 1080P models (around 800-1200 depending what your after without going into silly money) Panasonic is at the cutting edge of Plasma. I wasn't a fan of plasma until the later panasonic models came along. Scott =op
