Guest Brazen
just to let anybody know i got a great initial quote of sky insurance, but when they phoned me back they said their underwriters have just issued a new policy not alowing them to insure under 30's. am currently with original insurer (adrian flux) till end of term then will have a shop around. caseys
Ditto I had that two weeks ago. Sucks eh? Didn't even help me that I'd been driving a J-spec NA for nearly 6 years since I was 20.
marbleapple
Will Sky be the clubs insurer next year? Seems rather daft if they are IMO.
hoff
So sky wont insure anyone under 30 then? What about an NA? I'll be 27 with 3 years no claims when my renewal is due. Im with Churchill at the moment but im sure I can get a better deal somewhere else. I always regret not joining the club first and not finding out about sky, A-plan, etc.

jazz1
Will Sky be the clubs insurer next year? Seems rather daft if they are IMO. i agree mate i think A-plan or adrian flux should be as they are the only two companies who seem to give decent quotes and insure under 30s, iv tryed nearly everone and all they say is you under 25 or a quote of 6000:(
dr_blackman
My polioy is up with Sky early Jan, I was hoping my insurance would go down with them now i'm 25 but it don't seem like it will somehow Guess i'll be phoning round too if they don't sort something out! michael
I think it's good they are doing this, they have identified a risk and removed it in order to ensure the policies of others aren't affected by the worrying trend of younger members crashing their non-declared mod infested cars constantly. Maybe Will Sky be the clubs insurer next year? Seems rather daft if they are IMO. They were the cheapest for me, I was disappointed by the lack of a guaranteed value offering but to date they have been a lot better to deal with than my previous insurer Adrian Flux. SKY now cover me on 2 policies and I've had the sort of personal service that comes as a benefit of them being the club insurer and club members. Maybe wrong thats utter crap, it all depends how you drive, theres always some young idiot racing or speeding, which causes these crashes
hoff
Im 26 with 2 YNC and 5 points. I thought i had 3 years when i went with them and my premium was under £800 which i thought was good but when the info from my previous insurers showed 2 years it went up to £1250! I was not happy to say the least so will be moving on soon.

Oh the youth of today, always wanting something for nothing, always feeling hard done by.
turbonut
Bigup to the oldies here then :D Its a worry though, both the age restriction and no longer doing agreed value. Perhaps its just for new claims rather than renewals as they would have to change their agreement to us in writing with the changes, surely?? Im with them too...ooh er... Can we get the sky insurance chap on this thread?? Linda x

I'm 26 with 2 years NCB and it was £640 Sky only told me their underwriters had a complete blanket ban on under 30's for TT's, UK or J-Spec. Sky wouldn't even *call* them to check if having drived an NA for 6 years would count for something. I would seriously recommend though calling A-Plan and talking to Chris at the Thatcham branch, the guy bends over backwards to help you. Stellar bloke. Uk-TT, mods declared, agreed value and everything, it still came out cheaper than anyone else. +1 for getting A-Plan to be our club insurers. Chris at A-Plan said to get someone from mkiv to call up his boss there and maybe sort out a deal

"Oh I got a quote for a Fiesta but when they found out it's actually a Ferrari they put the price up" To be honest £1250 for a 26 year old with a bad driving record and only 2 years NCB is pretty damn good for a car like a Supra in my opinion. Daston
so what about people with existing policy? I have a bone to pick with them any way as they havent taken this months money out of the bank nor have they taken any consideration into my preffered D/D date and have taken it out on random dates in previous months. steb9780
Got my quote through from Sky it was £1001 with no agreed value. Last year was £1090. Rang A-Plan they quoted me £812. Rang Sky back and they said they will match any cheaper quote I get, so matched it. I am 27, now got 4 years NCB, clean license (well in last 5 years ) had a fault bump 3 years ago.
