markjodrell
I despair at some of you guys on here... Mrs H simply shared a nasty experience and certain individuals decided to have a pompous "pop" at her....... If she had a few thousand posts behind her I think the response may different. AndrewOW
I have read this thread twice Jake and still don't understand what you are trying to say..... Your first post is very suggestive. My missus encounters two complete strangers who give her abuse while she's stationary in traffic and you say "maybe it was something else?". Please enlighten me as I obviosly do not have the mental capacity to understand this!! I don't think Jake meant any offence to either Vicky or you. He was probably suggesting that as these people were obviously jealous of the car she was driving, 'sl@g' was the longest offensive word they could quickly think of in that short time. I know Jake has a very direct dry sense of humour, but I don't think he'd ever mean harm in this way EDIT: I've never experienced any negative attention while driving the car, just for the record
Dragonlady
Mrs H....I can understand why you are upset, unfortunately the world is full of morons who open their mouths inappropriately. The best thing to do is ignore them and inwardly smile whilst thinking what a bunch of losers, they can only dream . Chin up missus we still think your cool. MrDriver
It happenes to everyone of us. People pointing and laughing (last week some people in a Audi A4 rs idiots!) ... MrHanky
Unfortunately the world is full of losers like this. It was probably due to the fact that you were in a Supra, as I doubt that they would of noticed you if you were in a Mondeo. Its just the nature of owning / driving a nice car. For the most part you will get positive reactions to your car, but you will always get random idiots notice you and do something like this. I remember when I left my brother in laws house once, and was driving slowly down this small street in my CRX. When suddenly for no reason whatsoever, a 6'5" meat head jumped in front of my car waiving a monkey wrench, whilst shouting all kinds of crap at me. I have no idea who he was as I had just helped the brother in law move into a house, in a totally different town to me and so hadn't come across this guy before. Just put it down to them being loser's Mark
grahamc
Hmmm.... I have had nothing nice comments for grown ups and "look its a race car" from kids... Laugh it off, jealous little tossers Or next time just run them over

robin
It is simply down to the type of car. As we own them and use them everyday it is easy to forget how different and attention grabbing these cars are. My supra is completely stock and I will often get people shouting things as I drive past. Normally its good things like "Weeey, gun it!" etc I have had people shout "Wank3r" as well. All I am doing is driving past, not speeding, I dont have a loud aftermarket exhaust. It is just the stereotype that comes with this sort of car. We are all obviously useless, dangerous, reckless people who should be hated. Those that like the car and can appriciate them are more likely to be jelious then hate us but the end result is similar. Matt H
Good job H was not in the car or I can see him going ape and spinning the sup round to give chase. It really isnt worth it as they have your number plate if anything happens. I mad the mistake of getting too wound up when someone disrespected me like that, led to me putting a wanker in hospital but getting 6 months prison on a suspended sentence, 150 hours community service and over 1k fine. Next time, id follow them home first before doing anything
Havard
Like the person last night you mean? What happened to them? They fooked off in the opposite direction I am reliably informed!! Hopefully they will die or suffer a terrible illness or both.... I think that shouting abuse at a woman on her own and then driving off is the sign of real men!! H. dangerous brain
Ladies ladies calm down. Having read some of Jakes other posts over the years I know that there was no malice intent. There are in fact many number of reasons why chumps on the road decide to gesticulate at people. Just because we choose to believe that its because of driving a certain car and no other reason doesn't mean that reason may have caused the outburst at all. Saying as much isn't subtle but it is true. You don't BS from Jake he tells it as it is and would have no problems making the same comment to your face, because the initial comment is harmless. And in this case he has a point, there are a great many reasons. I myself have received a shouting at on occasions for almost hitting cars I didn't even know were there, parked in places someone else was waiting for, drove closer to someone than they were comfortable with etc etc. Most of the time unless you have a passenger tell you what you did you won't even know why they shouted at you. If you habitually drive in the same area all the time it may even be about something they perceived you did some other time. I had some female pedestrian shout w@nker at me one day so loud the whole street heard it. I have absolutely no idea why to this day. I didn't let it bother me. Bottom line it probably was about two knob ends being jealous of a woman driving a supra when they are stuck in a crappy astra, and then again maybe not. Who knows??? And who will ever find out? Best thing is to shrug it off and get on with your day.

hoff
Dont worry about it too much Vicki. They were obviously just a couple of pricks who have nothing better to do. Im sure they found it very amusing, then went home because their mums had cooked their tea;) Just try and shrug it off and forget about it. They aint worth it. Now if it had been Paul instead of you having abuse shouted at him, we could understand that:d Just joking mate.

I have never had any abuse whilst out and about although I usually have the stereo on full blast so I wouldn't hear it!! I must admit that most things don't bother me. I just hate people with big mouths who think they are clever.... Maybe I am an idealist but it's great to see people run their mouths off and then get a good pasting!! H. Charlotte
This thread is a bit pickled isn't it? I don't think Jake meant anything by his comment other than there could be another reason for them shouting out, ie they have no brains? Someone did the w*nker sign at me the other day. I mean, how do they know what I get up to in my spare time?
