Leaky radiator

The car has been parked up in the driveway now for 3 months. It has been run twice in that time and both times I've noticed water coming out of the bottom of the car after I have switched the engine off.

I think it is coming from either side of the radiator but cannot be sure at the moment. On Saturday it really chucked alot of water out and it seems as if there maybe an air bubble in the system somewhere as the level looks ok in the tank!!!

Does this sound like the joins between the pipes and the radiater perishing? I hope its not a new radiator job!!!

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Thanks chaps!

It probably is the Radiator, it is probably the original one which means it is 10 years old now.

They do suffer from rotting at the bottom due to lots of leaves and crap getting stuck around that area.

If you remove the plastic trim under the car at the front you should be able to see better.

I would not drive the car if it's leaking coolant.

If it is the core that is suffering from tiny pin hole corrosion a temporary repair would be something like Wynn's Radiator Sealant, or some stuff called Celit, both work very well for tiny holes.

Thank you! Yes, the radiator is probably the original... :( Would probably benefit from a "new" one. Any idea how much they go for?

Fortunately the car is not going to be driven and the garage is only a mile down the road...

Ho hum... and just before Xmas as well!!!

I would see if anyone is upgrading soon and then get theirs - if not and you are up for one I have a PWR sitting here (but you will need to look at your tranny cooling etc afterwards too - if an auto(?))

It is not a huge job to take it out and check m8 - and if so get a couple of welds put on it if you can see where it's gone ?
