RedM
It's not for any good reasons either. I woke up on Friday with a stinking cold and didn't sleep due to aching limbs on Friday night. No problem, I planned to catch up over the weekend. Except I haven't. I now have a hacking cough (which seems to have strained some muscles in the side and front of my chest) and it's worse when I lay down. I am REALLY tired but I just can't seem to get over that last little bit before sleep. My eyes are sore. I look like something from a zombie flick. I'm not risking driving to work tomorrow having not slept for so long and I better get my cough looked at before it gets worse. Any suggestions for getting to sleep taking into account that we have no alcohol in the house. I've tried hot milk, hot chocolate, a bath, meditating and more. I'm getting desperate. Oh, and isn't FF spell-checker great?

RedM
I cant help, but know how you feel. Sympathies. Cheers Ewen. It's doing my head in. On top of the blinding headache and inflamed sinuses. It all started with the 'it's only a cold' comments from the brave soldiers at work. One persons minor cold is another person all out assault on their body.

Ewen
I hesitate in posting this, as coma is a more likely outcome than sleep. My wifes favorite 'artiste'. Insomniacs, I offer you, Peter Hamill
Ewen
Hes logged off. Thought old Peter would do it:) Mind you, it was an 8 minute clip...four minutes is an excessive dose, if he lasted the full 8 he may have hung himself.

Thorin
I'd go to the doctors if you're still feeling the same today. Man Flu is serious stuff.
RedM
I went to the doctor and said "If I hold my arm up like this, it hurts!" He said "Well don't do it then" No, hang on, I went to the doctor and told him about the sleeping thing and he wouldn't prescribe anything. I ended up buying some sleep aids (may cause drowsiness, Sherlock) from the Pharmacy.

Sted
Would recommend the night nurse option, knocks you out but you don't feel like you've done 7 rounds with Tyson when you wake up.
RedM
Did they work? I'm on the edge of my seat here. I did nod off briefly but it was while reading one of Jamesmarks 'jokes'. I'm trying them tonight. I'll let you know tomorrow.
