Seifer
Hey guys, i've recently been getting a funny scraping noise from the near side of my car. I think it's the rear brakes. Not sure if the caliper is seized or if it's just worn discs/pads. Any way to tell what it is? The discs look ok to me, but i'm not really sure what i'm supposed to be looking for. It's a constant scraping noise as i'm driving along, that gets slighty quieter as i brake, then stops when i'm braking below about 10mph.. Are the j spec calipers prone to seizing? Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers Dave
BASHTHEBISHOP
Hey Dave Not been technically minded i couldnt tell you that it is the brakes but... They are prone to seizing & you can buy a reconditioning kit for them. Give Jody a shout mate am sure he could get you one and take a look at the brakes to check pads for wear etc.

Digsy
Yes, it sounds like the noisemaker in the pad. Its telling you one of your pads is nearly worn out. Whip them out and have a check.
