Homer
I've been on the Surrey Rolling Road day today and got seem to have got some good results. The guys there advised me the AFR look good, but I'd like some confirmation from the tech here that everything looks okay To my limited knowledge the car does not seem to be running lean at high boost (440cc injectors, standard IC & no boost/fuel controller), but I'm unsure if these AFR readings are okay? Any comments guys? (see attached pic) Cheers
Dragonball
IMHO First glance looks fine m8 - but I would bung on a FSE and (have you got a) Walbro (?) to improve the responsiveness and pickup - this will maybe just richen up a bit to 3200-4000 too
Homer
Thanks for the reply Paul - and cheers for organising the meet today. You rushed off to quickly for me to thank you in person! A Walbro has already gone in. A big upgrade on the fueling is planned next (injectors, controller, fuel rail and pipes) in preperation for a "medium" single... Will a FPR really make any a postive difference to the AFR or EGT's? Should I expect any payoff in additional power? If anyone has an FPR going for a reaonable price I'll chuck one in and drop down to Surrey RR again to what difference it makes
China Man
These result means very little for me as I have no idea what it should be in the first place. My car is totally standard apart from the 100bhp+ HKS induction and the noisy dump valve which were both fitted by the last owner. The car will soon be decat and with Nur spec_r, I hope then next dyno I do it will hit 300+ My car is auto and I have heard that auto always give problem at dyno and result are lower. TBH I have nothing against the guys who help us today. They were new and they do show the lack of confident at their work but then they are new and we were told by paul in his first post! Have a look at my result, I think they are alright. What do you think? China
Matt Harwood
Homer, Personally, I'd say you have a horrible lean spot between about 4600 - 5800 rpm. You really want that AFR below 12 under full boost. Do you have an uprated pump? - Fuel pressure regulator? Both of which may help to cure it, but ideally it could do with some kind of fuel trimming to flatten out that nasty lean spike. IMO, the power readings are about right though Conversly, China, yours is running a bit rich Lean it out a bit and you could gain a few more horses... Homer
Matt, The pump is a Walbro one but I have not changed the fuel pressure regulator. Will look to change that in the very near future then!! Cheers
Guest Terry S
Homer TBH mate everything is not fine there. What was the temperature in the dyno cell?? China, I would be happy with your AFR's mate
Alex
1st turbo is weak and that looks like it's due to lean AFR's... Fuel Regulator not upto scratch?

Okay, bit worried now. Temperature was fecking cold!! It was only a small place but the front doors were wide open and there were two large fans blowing in cold air from the outside. The car has just been serviced and got a new fuel filter, guess I can only try an uprated FPR and stick it on the dyno again. Cheers
Guest Terry S
OK thats not so bad. The colder it is the leaner it will run, but I doubt very much it was anywhere near as cold as blatting down a Motorway in this weather! See my point?? China Man
Sorry , I got a bit carried away there. I am happy with the figure. I need the Nur Spec-R and decat and do another dyno run China
