Gamer
Right, I thought it was they are expected to, not that they are for definate. http://www.itv-f1.com/News_Article.aspx?PO_ID=41157
jim_supra
http://www.itv-f1.com/News_Article.aspx?PO_ID=41157 I hope they see sense and change their minds then. This is not the way to win a world championship.

Alex
I think they should appeal - no one at Ferrari would hesitate if they could gain an advantage/championship!!! It would be poetic justice. The Hamilton "glitch"....bet it won't ever take 20secs to sort again They'll have a much faster system for the future! Best laid plans...maybe someone used an ION blaster on his car, just like in Spooks!
ivan
Hamilton had no choice but to go for a 3 stopper after his troubles. It would have allowed him to run lighter and hopefully pass more people. that was the reasoning behind going for a 3 stopper at that point. Ron said that they gained 10 seconds by going for 3 stops when he was interviewed.
Alex
Ron said that they gained 10 seconds by going for 3 stops when he was interviewed. I was confused by the choice to go on the supersofts so early...I don't know how many sets he had but I would have used 2 sets for the last two stints, allowing a bit more rubber to go down first. It probably wouldn't have made much of a difference....
hiten55
i was going to write something, but its all been said. apart from, what a familly the Hamiltons are!
Pixelfill
I hope they see sense and change their minds then. This is not the way to win a world championship. Unfortunately it's worth too much money from their sponsors if they are successful, there is no way that they can not appeal I hope that it's upheld it might help redress the court balance, and upset Jon Todt just a little. Alex
I'd only feel sorry for Williams....4th was a great result.
Gaz Walker
It wouldn't be a great way to win, however it'd be nice just to have one over on Ferrari on a technicality... Gaz.
MrDriver
I'd only feel sorry for Williams....4th was a great result. Nobody is paying attention to the other teams anymore. If Spyker was 4th even then nobody would notice it. I hope next year some more teams can battle for the championship titles.
T2 MSW
Lets hope they let Prodrive in which could really spice things up, thats assuming they can setup the rebranded Mclaren!!
Alex
Lets hope they let Prodrive in which could really spice things up, thats assuming they can setup the rebranded Mclaren!! That's not likely to happen. Looks like they'll have to build there own to join now...and SA/STR's legitimacy is is going to appeal next... Williams have basically told the FIA to get knotted on the customer car idea if they can't sort out some sort of deal that makes being a constructor benefitial....ie more TV money etc, not allowing customer cars to score constructors points. I totally side with Williams on this, it's not fair to come in and just buy the best car and take revenue away from the smaller independent constructors like Spyker (Force India F1) and Williams. mattanna
I know we are in a world of conspiracy theories at the moment, but i have heard that there is talk that due to the spying scandal the level of fine could have been much more, it has been touted by some that Maclaren may have had to agree to a deal that none of their drivers win the championship(if not face a more crippling fine or drivers out), even though they were not disqualified, this would explain leaving Hamilton out on bald tyres(which they surely would not normally do) and the gearbox incident, and Alonso not having great pace recently. Was also interesting to hear Ecclestone's comments to Brundle which were oppsite to what he has said before, who knows but the old corruption does appear to be rife and Ecclestone has far too much influence. It is like Seb Blatter turning up to every football match and trying to influence the outcomes!!

T2 MSW
Ive just read the press release alonso has given to the spanish media and it sounds like he is asking Mclaren to give him the sack! He is saying the team lost the drivers championship for both drivers and they have not supported him in the second half of the season - If I was Ron that sort of comment would ensure he was not in my team next year. Why is everyone giving Alonso so much stick? Do you know what is happening behind the scenes at MacLaren, doubtful. Maybe he does want out of MacLaren, maybe for good reason.... T2 MSW
Because he's a prick His attitude stinks and anyone who losses their temper and smashes up doors and throws there helmet against the wall deserves everything they get. Im a hamilton and Maclaren fan but you dont see any other driver doing the above when they loose. Quite possible he wants out but he already has that option! When it all started to kick off and got serious when Ron admitted they were not talking Ron openly said on TV Alonso had a contract with the team in 2008 but at the end of this year he is free to go should he choose to do that. Just because he takes things badly and cant accepting loosing is not a bad thing, generally makes him an even better competitor. What is said on TV, I do straight up do not believe. The chances are that Alonso wants out of his contract, but wants the contract cancelled by MacLaren....
Alex
Please be mindful of the fact the Media have twisted the truth/actual words and context out of all proportion this year.... ...but Alonso has been a silly boy. I don't think anyone in the paddock has been impressed with his behaviour...practically the only people not to criticise him are the teams that are trying to sign him, Toyota and Renault. T2 MSW
Difference in opinion there - I believe it just makes him look like a spoilt child and a bad sportsman. Certainly not disagreeing - he is an excelent driver just as you say stupid and impulsive at times! Thats very possible - if he walks away thre could be some financial implications. I would love the see him at another team next year, renault ideally for two reasons. He can race Hamilton all day long and no one can say anything about it or worry about team orders and Renault's car this year was crap so I only hope for much of the same next year and he can get his arse kicked.
