jazz1
tryed so many insurance compnaies and everytime i told them my age and car they just laughed (basta*ds). Anyways iv been through nearly 30 now and all quoted me 4k plus apart from adrian flux who i made a deal, if i dont find anything cheaper by the 31st of this month then il take it out with them. Im 22, 3 points 2 yrs NC and only doing 2000 miles a year. Adrian flux quoted 1956 with all my mods and 40 pounds extra to pay in four set installments, i will call sky end of the month to see if they can find someone else, any other suggestions on really good companies? the only reason why im trying is lancaster and sky did quote me 1500 2 months ago

Homer
When you try Aplan on Monday make sure you speak to their special schemes department, I think they're the ones in Thatcham. They were cheaper than Sky for me but didn't do guarenteed value at the time.

SupraD06
not sure if you have tried elephant.com but im 23 with 6points and 6 years no claims and mines £699 and thats with bodykit, alloys, airfilter, intercooler, exhaust, and springs. i paid £1050 when i was 22 with 6points and 5years no claims with all mods too all prices where based on car value of 10K and anual millage of 3000 a year, elephant offer a 10 month plan where you get your years no claim every 10 months instead of 12, basicly you do 60 months and get 6 years no claims bonus but 60months is only 5 years helping the cost of insurence with young drivers

Gazboy
Try confused.com Have you put your mum & dad on as named drivers? Sometimes it works out cheaper to put a girlfriend on as it shows trust & maturity (allegedly)

SMiFFAD
Elephant are great if you dont intend to crash or mod your car much. Its a case of you get what you pay for, they are cheap yes, but youll probably get taken to the cleaners if you crash, you wont get agreed value or like for like on mods. But it gets you the basics of insurance you need to drive, which is what most of us want. Ive been with them for years as like you when i was 21 i found it hard to find decent quotes. Even now (26, 5YNCB, no crashes/points) they are about half the price of the "specialists" whos only speciality seems to be dragging money out of people. IMHO only bother with them if you have a monumentally special car - if you have a realitivly standard supra, seriously dont bother. Deffinatly add your mum to your policy as a named driver, took £100 off mine Insidently adding my dad put £2 back on Both have clean licenses and are just over 60. Homer
Be VERY careful with Elephant, they do not like mods and DO NOT insure cars with aftermarket BOV - or cars with more than 6 modifications. Total loss payout tends to be terrible too. WTF, Im 30, 9 NCB, and I just quoted £1100 through A Plan with a 500 excess.....I said around 10,000 miles a year... Just for comparison Ash, I'm 31, 14 yrs no claims, drive a 550bhp single turbo with £14k agreed value and pay £1200 per year. I expect my postcode is equally as sh*t as yours on the database. jazz1
elephant are idiots i did a online quote and they told me 1700 but when i called them and told them to double check that quote she told me i did it for an mr2. Now i may be stupid but i do know what a supra is compared to an mr2 so she put everything correct and they came up with 3000:(
Gazboy
Who with ? What mods are declared and what value did you value your at ? Diamond. If it's in my Garage, it's declared & £8k
jazz1
iv been telling the companies the value of my car is 12k but if i say its less will i get a cheaper quote?
Lbm
iv been telling the companies the value of my car is 12k but if i say its less will i get a cheaper quote? They'll only pay out their "market value" in the avent of an accident...so be realistic with your value. In the meantime... Insured with these for last 8 years...
