RedM
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7053377.stm Basically, McLaren admit to giving him two sets of wets to use in practise! I bet they'll be certain parties behind the scenes pushing for a heavy punishment.
ivan
Oh dear. McLaren shoot themselves in the foot again. What's the betting Kimi gets the win?
MrRalphMan
That's crazy, surely no team makes that kind of mistake. Do they really want him to win or are they making darn sure that he doesn't?
colsoop
Oh yippee an outside source decides the world title

Gaz Walker
Thats not on. I think he'll be really lucky if he gets away with that. I think he's gonna fight till end though, fingers crossed. Go Hammy! Gaz.

SupraStar 3000
I'm sure Hamilton is thinking,... "IS IT CUZ I'M BLACK!" Poor lad. Everything is going against him.
Pixelfill
I won't be surprised if no-one watches F1 next year, and I won't be surprised if Hamilton is in A1-GP or anything other than F1, I'd be tempted to go Formula ford after the way he's been treated this season
Clarkey
This sickens me. I felt F1 was pretty stagnant before Lewis arrived on the scene. F1 is nolonger a sport. It's a business.
Gazboy
The FIA have to be careful what punishment they give him or the title has been decided off the track. If they give him a ten place grid penalty the boy may as well change the engine, start from 20th and drive like every lap is a qualifying lap. Clarkey
I think the FIA have to be very careful here. Back in when Schumi was driving, I remember Ferrari were pulled by having a spoiler that was a couple of mil bigger than it should have been. Supposely giving a aerodynamic advantage. A penalty then - would have meant the title decided off track. Ferrari were not punished.
Gordon F
The FIA have to be careful what punishment they give him or the title has been decided off the track. Sorry, but the title should have nothing to do with it. If they have broken the regulations, then they should pay the penalty. It's not like they are short of staff, they have over 1000, surely one of them could be allocated to read the rulebook. The whole F1 thing this year is a joke anyway. How can you take away the constructors points and not the drivers? It's like disqualifying a horse but saying the jockey won the race. The only reason they weren't was to protect TV audiences. The sooner people wise up to the fact that the product F1 is rubbish and turn off in their droves, the sooner it will get better.

That would be quite cool actually, having two brits as the top 2 drivers in a yank sport.

Ok, I may not like Hamilton, but this is bloody pathetic... these guys study these rules/laws so that they can push the boundaries on every single aspect of the race. This is a complete failure from MacLaren. Useless bastards!! This is why I support rally so much... I remember not so long ago, that I co-driver died in an accident and one of the drives lost some time. So Loeb took a time penalty so that he did not win the championship and took it to the next rally. Now that is competitive spirit and respect at its best. I 100% agree with you F1 as a product is crap but people keep watching in hope of something different and this year it happened with Hamilton. This is just a joke, Maclaren are meant to be a profesional team they are meant to know what they are doing. One thing thats intresting though is that the Team had to admit it the FIA bloke they put in there obviously did not notice!!!!
mattanna
I have posted about f1 in the past, and i am a Ferrari fan of many years standing, but I hope Hamilton wins on Sunday and hope he wins the championship, all of a sudden these new rules seem to keep appearing, and are you telling me that Maclaren did not know the consequences?, i fear that as much as they appear to love Hamilton the fact of a rookie winning in his first year may be detrimental to the sport as the other drivers cannot justify their salaries, even though anyone with any common sense knows that Hamilton is the best thing that has happened to the sport in years, possibly ever, the entire "sport" is corrupt and rotten and is nothing more than a total farce, there is more politics involve din f1 than there is in the Iraq conflict. F1 as an organisation is conspiring against Hamilton as he has made their long standing elite sport look piss easy, despite being in the best car etc etc, the whole thing is a joke:search:
Whitesupraboy2
seems a fine was best. When im sure normally it would be a grid penalty http://www.itv-f1.com/News_Article.aspx?PO_ID=41104
grahamc
at least the championship is not decided off the track... no matter, I think I am hanging up my F1 cap after this year, just getting pathetic.
