Guest chrisbirch
Trying to get insured on a J spec TT auto - slightly modded but not BPU. Im 24 but haven't driven one of these before so its my first buy on a supe. My current motor is a clio182 or 'french shite box' as put on here the other day!!haha/true I saw that there were some people on here paying under £1K that were in my position and wondered where they got insured? The best ive had is £1250 with A-FLux, sky were a bit more and A-Plan wouldn't quote... can anyone recommend any more of these daylight robber organisations to part my hard earned cash with please. Cheers.

colsoop
What are the mods that you have. Is it possible to remove them until you have a years ncb on the car to try and reduce your quote. That way you can try the mainstream insurers.

(X1) SP30 (Last week) no accidents claims etc. Are Adrian Flux poor ?

I haven't had great experience with them in the past but that was my fault for not checking over the small print fully ! I can't really say for sure. What are the mods to the car ? What i meant was a years experince on the Supra
Scott
I don't really see what the big issue is with Adrian Flux. I've been insured with them twice and not had an issue. What i will say is make sure you don't give them any false information as they will try to screw you if you do. A-Plan are the cowboys IMO. I had an Evo insured for 6 months. Changed to an MR2 that everyone was quoting me 500 to insure, they quoted me 1200. I asked for my 6 months money back and they had a clause stating i was only entitled to 10% of my money back. Now THATS robbery! Scott =op

I had a hell of a lot more than that on my TT and at 22 with 2 years NCB I was under a grand with A flux
Scott
I had a hell of a lot more than that on my TT and at 22 with 2 years NCB I was under a grand with A flux That sounds far too cheap. Normally insurace companies won't go near you with only 2 years NCB on a car like that. U sure they know its a tubby lol. Regardless you got it for a song. I'm £788 with 3 points, i'm 27 and have 9 years NCB. All mods are declared. Scott =op

DaveSupTT
£700 fully comp 1 yr no claims, 25 years old, declaring N/S exhaust, body kit and alloys on a 1994 MK4 Supra twin turbo Auto! With Admiral! (Very cheap and yes this is on a MK4 and not a MK3 and twin Turbo- I double checked as alot of people couldn't believe how cheap it was and to check the documents when they came through) Downside: Admiral do not do agreed a valuation and they will not replace like for like if involved in an accident. They will just put the standard kit on. But for £700 fully comp its a BARGAIN. Also your only aloud up to 4 Mods
gannon888
the only people who would even consider me were elephant, and that was when i was 21 they quoted me about 1400, so id imagine you would get a quote under a grand
DaveSupTT
I might be wrong but I think that Admiral, Bell, Elephant and diamond insurance are all the same company or something like that, although they do give different quotes I found. Im sure I have read that somewhere, might be wrong. the only people who would even consider me were elephant, and that was when i was 21 they quoted me about 1400, so id imagine you would get a quote under a grand

They do have different criteria for giving out insurance though hence the difference in price. Plus there has to be a juggle from year to year so that they can up the profits.
