Chris Wilson
Driven miles and miles and miles in heavy snow in my old auto TT, never had a problem, or at least no more so than in any other heavy powerful RWD car. Overly wide and very low profile tyres are a no no though in such conditions. Mine was always on stock 16 inch rims.
hoff
After that Chris, I will definately roll on the old wheels then.
Rob Dublin
N/A, no TC with LSD. Drove a good 10 miles thru snow and ice to the main road that was clear. No probs, most of it purposely sideways! Can't wait for it to snow again!
Missile
I use the snow as an excuse to go out and have some fun. As long as you take extra care I think its Ok. Its the off camber roads you have to look out for, The back end tends to whip out unexpectidly.
Jake
I've done it. It was alright really. On the motorway I was over/undertaking people in 4x4 just like usual. The only problem I had was getting moving again after after coming to stop when I'd left the motorway. The car was going sideways rather than forwards but I think that was because my auto doesn't have an LSD and was just spinning one wheel. Got out of our uphill works car-park in the snow. Only went sideways when I made it. No LSD/torsen diff?
TRD-Rob
315 on the back and 255 on the front and with no tc i will be shitting myself when the snow does hit

dr_blackman
To be fair I had more problems in my works Sprinter van than the Supra, although I only drove the Supra once luckly a few hundred yards in the snow that week when we had snow lol... SupraStormRising
Last time it snowed mine was fine although took 20 mins to get out of car park With an auto you can use the brake as you would clutch control on pulling off does the same thing slowly allowing the wheels to turn Once your going it's fine and on nice wide empty roads it's quite fun to
paulrenn
Depends what tyres you have. Low profile, low tread = no go. My car would go NOWHERE in snow. If you get a lot of rain or snow (e.g. in winter ) then I would recommend seperate set of wheels and tyres for that.
hoff
Ive decided to get some thinner gripier tyres to put on my old 17" wheels and put them on if/when needed.
VIL
Got caught out once at work a few years ago and by the time I could leave there was a good few inches of snow on the ground. My first problem was getting it out of the car park without hitting any of the other cars. Mine is an auto and even under the lightest of touches on the throttle the rear wheels spun and squirmed the car sideways. My second problem was stopping as it just slid everywhere (I called a mate who I worked with and got him to drive in front of me about 40 yards to try and carve a path and give me advanced warning of breaking etc). I guess your thinking why go to the effort and risk it....at the time I was working in a not so nice area and even in a secure car park we had loads of cars broken into so I had no choice but to risk getting it home... Not something I would like to do again.....
osso
Buy another space saver wheel and put them both on the rears! problem solved! A supra running on bicycle wheels at the rears would look stupid tho
hoff
Not as stupid as one which has just slid 50 yards in the snow into a brick wall and parked car though;)
SupraGirlie
Took me 2 hours to drive a few miles in very heavy snow in a little saxo so I won't be using the Supra in ice or snow, ever! Although its nearly November and its not that cold so I think it's a long way off till we get any snow.
