Angarak
Hi Ho, My MOT is looming this week. I have BPU supra with double de-cat. I have an AEM Wideband gauge and its sensor is located in one of the decat pipes. I have a Super Drager (SD) exhaust and have to put both cats back in for the SD to fit properly. Since Im not a fan of having sensors 'tied up out the way' under the car I am therefore thinking of unplugging the AEM Wideband sensor from the loom and also unplugging the loom from back of the AEM gauge (the gauge is standalone, not connected to an ECU). Any thoughts on this? What do you other AEM users do? Cheers Si
RobSheffield
Why not just remove the decat pipe, disconnect the sensor and remove the decat pipe pip the wire and plug back towards the grommet and job is done Not seeing why you have to fully remove the AEM. Jake
I just unplug the connector near the sensor and cable-tie the cable to the gearbox mount to keep it out of the way until the cats come back off again. No need to remove the wiring to the gauge.
Angarak
Cheers chaps, I wouldnt be removing the wiring as such, just unplugging the sensor (and storing it somewhere) and removing the plug from the back of the gauge so no power goes to it (since the sensor isnt plugged in). Jake
I wouldnt be removing the wiring as such, just unplugging the sensor (and storing it somewhere) Just leave it mounted to the decat pipe and store that. and removing the plug from the back of the gauge so no power goes to it Why bother? Seems like work for nothing to me. I just left mine displaying 14.7 all the time it wasn't connected. Didn't hurt it at all.
