NeoFuture
There are a lot of opinion on what to do to an NA (no and i dont mean swap it for a TT) whats the best way to get a few more horses from it WITHOUT going turbo route (for now anyway) discussions and opinions (if serious) welcome
Jake
NA Performance = Oxymoron. Seriously mate, this has been done to death many times. Do a search.

Homer
Before it gets silly, what budget do you have available? However, as Jake mentioned this has been discussed to death. There is a huge amount of info available on recent threads.

Sorry.
NeoFuture
so what could i do with a better budget ?
Homer
You could put in some aftermarket cams and a standalone ECU to manage them, but you'd be making only a few HP more than stock. It's just not worth the expenditure.
NeoFuture
ok i see so no point doing things like induction kits and bigger injectors ?
Homer
so what could i do with a better budget ? Keep saving for a TT and go from there. Or, if you're really attached to your NA join the queue for a TT conversion.
Homer
ok i see so no point doing things like induction kits and bigger injectors ? Thats pretty much it. Induction kit will add nothing. Bigger injectors are pointless on an NA.
NeoFuture
ok thanks, i think if i did do anything it would be a transplant or a NA-T i kinda grown attached to this aero ive only just bought it
Homer
ok thanks, i think if i did do anything it would be a transplant or a NA-T i kinda grown attached to this aero ive only just bought it A TT conversion is far more cost effective if you are aiming for less than 420flywheel hp If you want more then budget 3 times your current one for a decent NA-T conversion. IMO, get a TT to begin with. Unless your NA is a very late model facelift, it's not worth converting.
NeoFuture
thats not a problem and to be honest 1800-2000 was all i wanted to spend on a NA, 420 would be more than enough for me

NeoFuture
so that would be about 325rwhp ?
Homer
so that would be about 325rwhp ? If you're doing a full transplant (the NA g/box, prop and axle is no good) a real BPU auto should be making around that power figure. If it's a 6spd, then it'll be a bit more, in my example runing 1.25bar and maxed injectors it made 360rwhp. It was very rapid to say the least
Jake
Serious question; if you have 2k to waste trying to make a NA faster why didn't you just buy a TT in the first place?
NeoFuture
I liked the aero i just bought, agreed the sale, i have some future funds coming through which were unforseen when i bought my car and now i have room for movement i didnt have the most probable £2k to spend when i bought it, to sell now and look for another car would be a pain to do.
Jake
It'll be the cheapest way to get more power though mate. Honestly, you wouldn't be the first guy to throw away thousands trying to make a NA as fast as a stock TT (let alone a BPU) and then give up and buy a proper Supra. Or the last. To be honest fella, I'd consider floging it and getting a later model TT. You need to consider resale too, a transplanted NA is going to be worth a heck of a lot less than a genuine TT. NeoFuture
Sigh so if i like the car and WANT to chuck 5k at it, funny enough i couldnt find any TT aeros, and its an aero i wanted im not bothered about resale i have no intentions of selling it
NeoFuture
Thank you for yout help and opinons guys (sorry if i sounded snappy been a long day)
JohnA
so if i like the car If you do like it and you've just bought it, why the rush to spend money on it? and WANT to chuck 5k at it, That is more than the market value of the original car most likely, spent on something that doesn't add much resale value (and often it hurts it) im not bothered about resale i have no intentions of selling it In a couple of years you may think otherwise What do you want, people here talking you into wasting money on useless 'performance' parts?
