neil tt
Was wondering if anyone is running one of these on a Supra, I looking to go single on the Soarer, but a bit concerned about the lag. If its bad on the Supra, its going to be a waiste of time on the Soarer:(

matt k
Mine doesn't make serious boost until about 4k at 3k it only makes about 0.4 bar.
n boost
Mine makes full boost at around 4k. I love it when it kicks in and it doe's not seem very laggy as i have a 0.96 housing. Brilliant for the drag strip or motorway driving.
Jake
Brilliant for the drag strip or motorway driving. Cool! What times and trap speeds are you getting at the drag strip?
neil tt
The one I'm looking at is .82. If its not making full boost until 4000rpm on the Supra, on the Soarer I would be looking at closer to five, or would the .82 make a difference, it has come off a Soarer:)
birdy
have you looked at http://www.TO4R.com
matt k
If you want a quick spooling turbo, then i would advise a gt35r i have been in an auto with .68 a/r and a 6 speed with .82 a/r, both spool much quicker than the T04R. I am currenlty trying to decide whether to buy a gt35r or t61 or put a 3800 hi stall on my box.
tooquicktostop
Here is my T04R on the dyno, made 580 BHP at the fly Click here to watch T04R-Dyno-Run
Andy-No-Knee
Neil, I'm running a HKS 3037s on my Soarer, there is not much more lag than on the normal twins but alot more power. (375rwhp) and that has been detuned to that and the dyno run was in second gear not top.
dangerous brain
I swapped a HKS T04 R with a 0.96 a/r exhaust housing for a BL dbb T67. The turbo itself is obviously the same size as I used both the inlet and exhaust housing from the HKS one for the BL one. It may be just my imagination and it may be because the bearing was on its way out but the new turbo seems to spool quite a bit quicker than the old one did. For what its worth if you can get the HKS unit as a a DBB then do that especially if you have lag concerns. PS this is with an aristo thats obviously alot closer auto box behaviour to your soarer than a mk4 supe is.
neil tt
Thanks for all the replies, I am waiting to get some flow charts for my hybrids, and then will deciede if I need to go single, or can get more out of what I have. The car comes off the road at the end of the month, so time to strip down and change a few things
