Hobbies, what do you do?

I grow carnivorous plants, you know venus flytraps (only rare varieties mind) american pitchers, tropical pitchers, sundews. They divide during summer which I then separate and sell on ebay. Made 750 quid last year from this. I've also grown them through tissue culture.

Wow, that's a different hobby, and something i once tried to get into, via cacti and succulents. Sad to some, but true!

Right when the weather is nice out on my Yamaha XL1200 175BHP Jet Ski ridding the waves absolute loads of fun 75 MPH+ on water & never allowed to open full throttle unless to sea is like a sheet of glass:

My adrenaline hobby is Flying radio control Helicopters & Planes :eyebrows: have 6 Heli's & over 20+ planes & majority of them fly over 150 MPH+ fastest plane does over 250 MPH+ which is a sport 40 Pylon racer & once that hits the sky & on song it will make any single with screamer pipe sound very very quite :D:d:d few samples below:

If it does 250mph and your stood there doing 0mph, how do you actually manage to fly it at that speed with out it shooting off into the distance and going AWOL?!

Up to cloud heights / massive dives & low level passes & quarter mile + circuit's, flights last around 3mins of pure high speed adrenaline rush & massive buzz :eyebrows:

Then fly round sky till engine cuts & no matter where it is in the sky landings always within 5 metre radius from where I stand ;)

This thread might end up costing me a lot of money!

Called the local airport this morning, and a 1 hour flying lesson is about £140 so I'm going to book that when I'm back from holiday.

After that (assuming I like it) cost of license seems to vary. When I looked a month or two back, I found intensive courses (Scotland) for £4.5k - but I couldn't find that when I searched today. Also, the lady I spoke to at the local airport said that intensive courses didn't make much sense in the UK because you couldn't rely on good weather. I'm not sure if I mis-heard her, but I'm sure she said it would cost about £9.5K.

From the search I did this morning, it looks like a realistic figure is probably somewhere around the £6K mark. So if I wanted to complete a license within 12 months, I suppose it's roughly £500 per month.

Let's hope I don't enjoy the one hour flight!

I had horses when I was a student, and I wasn't spoilt??

Because all the money was spent on the horses :p

Well to go back ontopic, I do some photography, have a supra as weekend car (my best hobby ever).

3d grafics were my hobby but now it's my fulltime job so I tend to do less 3d at home.
