Hello everyone :D.. I am just working on a bit of a toyota based kit car and want to use the 2jzgte with either the v160 or the auto box, not too fussed either way tbh but basicaly i was just wondering how big is the engine? would someone mind popping down to their car with a tape measure and getting rough dimensions of the engine bay or the engine prity prity please. Just want to see if it will fit the engine bay of the shell i want to fit it in. It is a prity big engine bay but still just in case. Thanks in advance.

Yup i know... Which is why idealy measurements of the engine bay as a whole would be better so as to account for the radiator and all. I think it will be a very tight fit but I am quite sure it should just about fit in there. Just need some rough dimensions of the engine bay just to double check. The 3sgte fits in with room to spare so if the 2jz is a similar size then it should fit in with some shoehorning and hammering.

I was also wondering about this the other day when our FreeLander head gasket went for the 3rd bloody time.

From your sig i gather you have two of the lovely beasts... get your tape measure out mate ;)

You're only saying that cos it's true.

It's difficult to get exact measurements with all that shit in there but as far as I can make out:

770mm between the strut towers. Probably need 740mm min gap to get the 2JZ into.

780mm from the bulkhead to front of crank pulley

870mm from the bulkhead to front of viscous fan

1010mm from the bulkhead to front of radiator
