T2 MSW
This has never been done before so why now? Bet Ron is fuming! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7038494.stm
Jake
Huh? What's never been done before? What should Ron be fuming about?
AndrewOW
I didn't really read the article, but the photo they decided to use was ace! The usual 'emotion' from Hamilton, and the 'I hate you' expression from Alonso. Great!

Wez
How come Ferrari were allowed to get away with it with Schu. The FIA should have no say what so ever in team strategy and should keep there nose out, just as they should have with the cheating issue. Why should Alonso get the same treatment when he lost the whole team there constructors points, the guy is a cry baby.
Scoboblio
What's never been done before? Bringing in a special scruitineer just to keep an eye on both of them. Does seem a bit OTT to be honest.

He didn't, the spying scandal did that. Although he didn't turn up to the inquest did he and he let the spat spill onto the track by blocking Hamilton in qualifying. T2 MSW
I think it should have been Alonso that got thrown out of the championship as he withheld knowledge of the designers sharing details with the team. But I agree, why because Alonso crys like a baby does the FIA step in now and not in the past ie with Shumi and Ferarri. I seem to recall him falling out with Renault over the same thing, he thought fisi was getting more support and a better car!

colsoop
So what would happen if say the fefuelling rig got stuck on Alonso's car ? would hamilton lose his points for the race. It is unenforceable in my mind. But goes to show the one sided ferrari bias in F1

But goes to show the one sided ferrari bias in F1 Its a fair question, but you can see it happening, a genuine mistake or a wheel gun gets stuck or something and the title will be decided in the courts! jaymdee
IMO, Alonso should be chucked out of racing and banned for life for his role in the spying thing. Hamilton & Ron Dennis are the innocent ones, as far as I can see

neil tt
Alonso is pathetic, I can't see this beening of any use, I do hope the pratt is not anywhere near a Mclaren next year:(

Alex
The scrutiny thing is a load of bollox, Alonso will never be as fast as Hamilton, because he's unhappy...simple truth, racers don't perform well in circumstances like this. If the McLaren's can beat the Ferrari's to pole then the championship is Hamilton's. If the Ferrari's lock it out, I can see a titanic battle brewing
Chris Wilson
From an amateur level I can assure you I have driven some of my finest races when I have been unhappy and hated my rivals guts The problem with Alonso is these Mediterranean types can be a bit emotional, that's what it is
Gazboy
All the F1 teams spy on eachother, they nick eachothers ideas and they transfer personel like premiership football clubs. Eg TLicence moved from Williams to Spyker, you can't tell me Frank wheeled up to Tony and did a Charles Xavier on him and wiped his memory clean on his last day of employment! mattanna
I was a die hard f1 fan and have not missed the british gp for some years, however the current situation confirms to me that it is not really a sport, but a farce, Alonso is a twat, worse than Schumacher is alledged to have been, i have always been a Ferrari fan even in the dark days, however i can take it or leave it now, the "sport" is full of whingeing tossers like Mark Webber, Alonso, Raikonnen etc, and then there is the FIA, they are now even reviewing prodrives entry for next year, what will it be next "Coulthard called me a twat, FIA could you please investigate"??, i do not really give a monkeys now, just as long as Alonso does not win, as his actions towards his own team, are worse than cheating against another team, let him go back to Renault with Flavio Briawankertore!! Chewie
Scrutineer!! At our work he's called the Union Shop Steward. Alonso's treatment is a typical example of workplace bullying and harassment. He's been ostracised and subjected to a months of mental cruelty, his self esteem and confidence has been undermined and it is greatly affecting his work. He should join a union like ASLEF as he is some kind of train driver and take it to ACAS for an industrial tribunal and sue them for unfair dismissal if it comes to that. McClaren should remember that migrant workers from EU states like Alonso are covered by workplace regulations. Solidarinosc!!!
