Chase
Has anyone got tyre insurance? I didn't even know this existed until the missus bought a new Focus ST a couple of months back, and got tyre insurance for £99. This covers her for 2 years and they'll pay for punctuire repairs, or 2 replacement tyres per year, if the puncture can't be repaired. I've been thinking about getting it since going over a nail after having my new rims on for just 4 days, and having to shell out £130 for a new tyre... tooquicktostop
I will have to get some for the car next year, do they cover burn outs for the pod
Snooze
Hmm - wonder how this works. It would be all too easy to "puncture" a £150 tyre just around the time it needs replacing. If it means you can get 2 £150 tyres per year for a £99 premium, then either: a) your premiums are going to go through the roof come renewal b) your policy is going to get cancelled or, most likely c) the fine print means that it doesn't cover most situations

lockys96
good if your rear tyres are
ShamelessTT
Hehe im sure your premium must be based on the type of tyres your car needs.......

So there must be a catch somewhere. Maybe the quality of the new tyre (ie not Toyos etc as they cost quite a lot).
Whitesupraboy2
Maybe the quality of the new tyre (ie not Toyos etc as they cost quite a lot). thats fine by me only Michelin and falken make my size of tyre. I may be interested at £300 a tyre I could save a packet and I did have a puncture last yr....after having the tyre on a month and it couldnt be repaired
T2 MSW
The policies have a grading on what they pay out, They measure the tyre depth and if it requires replacing anyway you get nothing! I then scales up from this but if the tyre is part warn you still end up paying a fair amount. The insurance companies certainly dont loose out! lexsum
...... The insurance companies certainly dont loose out! they never do or they would not exist! also be prepared for all insurance costs going up to pay for the flood damage this year.
