JODY T
Hi Guys/gals One of my friends is looking to buy my Supra so i can start a new project (Aero Top anyone?) She is 24, But is needing help finding someone to insure her... She has no points 2years no claims, but had a small bump 2 years ago. Nothing serious.. So my question is where do all you supra drivin ladies get your insurance from... Would it be better to set the policy up in her boyfriends name with her as driver (Hes Old................... Sorry Paul i mean 29! HAHAHAHAHAHAH- Private joke ) or go on her own with him as a driver... Only problem is hes just got a conviction for no insurance! aparently he didnt realise they had cancelled it.... (I know..... Yeah right) So what to do, can anyone reccomend a decent insurer? Thanks, on behalf of Paul and Nina JT

SupraGirlie
I was with Admiral but now going with Bell as Admiral's renewal price sucked, although Bell and Admiral are the same company anyway!

I have 3 points, no no claims bonus and im 19 years old and been driving for 2 years, my mum is clean and 52 and my dad is 48 and has almost maximim points lol... with me as main driver then both parents as named, my quote was... drunroll please!!! £1453.33!!! how awesome is that lol... and i thought the 1659 quote from elephant was good! Try Bell, they seem to be good for japanese cars, few other friends are with them too

I'm quite certain you'll be quite shocked at the difference! Or maybe you won't
Scoboblio
Ahh that makes a difference then, mine's an import. Still, I would've thought that having 4 years NCB, being 3 years older, and a clean license would've been worth something to them! That's a great quote you've got yourself. Gerry
Girl Insurance... Now there's an idea ! Does it include home start if she won't go in the mornings or just road side assistance (which maybe useful when having starting problems parked up late at night in the countryside). I assume it will pay out "new for old" if she is stolen, so you can replace her with a new, more modern model. Just a thought....

fri3ndly
Yes, putting experienced drivers (15 years or more driving) on your policy does lower your premium. And imports are usually about £500 more than UK spec. But I am trying to make it very clear to people not to make the same mistake I did when they are insuring their car with Bell. They are the guys who wanted £195 just because I had tinted windows and they dont even cover modified parts cost, only standard parts. My original quote with Bell was £1650 fully comp on my car for 10 months(Bonus accelerator). When they asked for another £195 fo rthe tinted windows, I weighed it all up and cancelled the policy. I then took out insurance with Adrian Flux with ALL mods covered who quoted me £2100 for 12 months and all modifications covered in the event of a crash. They also said that any decorative modifications will not increase premium, only performance. I think Bell are a good low cost insurer, but not if you have modifications
Guest Puddlez
*Sorry to steal the thread but still relevant to topic!!* Adrian flux for me is tragic, with no modifications on any car, just a completely standard car theyre very expencive, maybe they dont like no no claims or points or something... Still cant find a good import insurer!
