Homer
Crikey, that looks like a very hard hit! As mentioned by Termie, make sure you get yourself checked out as it can take a while for neck/back injuries to show up. Good to hear you're okay so far. rovervi
This really pisses me off! As long as the insurance pays out then it doesn't really matter..... The Police are a fooking waste of time IMO. Whats the point in having cameras if they aren't of any use to anybody in situations like this?? H. totally agree with that mate! Sorry to see the motor but very glad you are okay
slow_matt
He wont be able to claim whiplash unless blame can be appointed towards another driver or he has personal injury cover on his policy. You can't claim against yourself under common law.
dangerous brain
Yoiks that is a hard hit. These cars are awesome in a crash though. Way before their time IMO. Ask Jezz how well they take a bang Sorry for your loss dude. Had an almost similar encounter a few years ago. I swerved to avoid a car that totally took my lane and thought I'd hit the reservation. It was those small rocks that line the dually edge hitting the bottom of the car making all the noise. Anyways it occurred to me afterwards had there been any damage I'd of been nadged on my own insurance for the actions of the other driver. Had I have sat there in my own lane and allowed that car to smack into me I'd have had a proper decent claim to go through. Shame you can't stop instantaneous reactions. Guest yoshi_v300
Nasty man. I hit the central reservation and Cat D-ed my car in July. Time the insurance company analyse your car then declare it a write off - 2 weeks. Then insurance pissing about - 4 weeks. It will be difficult to find a similar modified Supra so you're quite possibly going to have to take maybe their 2nd or 3rd offer and just be done with it. That could take 6 weeks upwards if you start rejecting offers. For me it was 2 months from crash to cheque. Then look for another car...months for the right model

Guest yoshi_v300
Typically you'll be asked for 3 examples of the same car/mileage in your area to come to a figure. Use autotrader.co.uk to look for examples. Print out any supras you see for sale etc. in your area, similar mileage/spec. Then argue cost of mods if you have them insured also. You might want to buy back the wreck and take the mods (which is what I did) - that will be roughly 33% of the claim payout. So the bigger the payout, the more you will pay for the wreck. bowk1uk
cheers for the info , will start looking in auto trader the mods were declared to insurance, think it will depend on the pay out if i buy the car back or not
Guest yoshi_v300
Sometimes buying the wreck back isn't the best way forward - there's tonnes of boosted Supras out there it's not the end of the world. 33% still a big chunk. I had too many specialist bits on mine that would cost the earth to replace so it made sense for me.
