Matt H
Purchased the following tv last week, all seems fine but everytime its on stand-by it makes the most annoying, sharp humming noise! worse thing is you cant turn the thing off fully, so i have to unplug it when its off otherwise id being going nuts. Can anybody suggest why its doing this? surely its not "just something that big LCD TV's do"?! has anyone else experiance similar problems with there tv? Spoke to a mate the other night who said a friend of his' tv does a similar thing too. http://www.digital-point.co.uk/model.php?ID=3059&referrer=pricerunner Ta Matt
Stevo
Never heard of LCDs doing this whilst on stand-by, but 'humming' is a common problem during viewing often attributed to the back light on many models. Don't see how this would affect the TV if its on stand-by but can't harm to try adjusting your back light down - just play with it to see what suits. Maybe have a look at posts over on the AV forums and search on 'humming'....?

tbourner
My Sony and my mate's Philips don't do anything like that - I'd go with taking it back as well.
