carl0s
We watch the Grindhouse pair on Saturday night. We started with Death Proof, which I really liked after a little while and loved the ending, then we watched Planet Terror. Both great movies. MrRalphMan
I watched this the other night in work.. ** cough cough ** and though it was great. If you ever tried to explain to some one the plot and people in it, it would sound ropey and the start was a bit wierd, but I loved it all the same. bmx1lew
death proof, Death crap! i hated it the storey goes, 1 hour of women talking, about 20 feet scenes, two 20 second gore scene (car crash all 4 killed which was good the other was gash headbutting the dash) oh almost for got the lapdance that was a good 4 mins, another 40 mins of women taking shite, 10 minuet car chase that did not put me on edge nor was it gripping in any way, then a shite ending (watching a bloke been punched and kicked) there was no plot or storey line one of the worst movies i seen if i went to the pictures to see it i would of demanded my money back or stole summit i was that angry i was actually upset that i lost 2 hours of my life, i have honestly never been so angry at a movie and i have seen JasonX now that was better!( i never thought i would ever say that) or so to speak tarantino, i am a tarantino fan but that was a utter joke, it was a mokery it wasnt even grind house style, there was no gripping tarantino action and not enought gore, i mean there was a two 20second scene's out of 2 hours, tarantino is over the top Gore with comic laughter and a great storey acompanied by a great line of actores. this was not a tarantino style movie the only way i can explain it, is like, if you go to see a alpachino movie what do you get? Gangster movies, mobster's, action ect well imagine your a alpachino fan you go to the cinema to see a new gangster movie but infact the storey has nothing to do with hard hitting gangster and it was a sleeping beauty! you would be pissed! and thats why i hated Death crap so much seriously if you enjoy life do not watch this movie watch the first 15 mins turn it off because thats all your going to be watching for the next 105mins . tarantino has really let me down with this one on the other hand, Planet terror is by far one of the best movies i have seen this year, all i can say is get a large group of mates to watch it with simply because it adds to the whole atmospher (mates screaming at the same time) it was fantastic i wont ruin it for you guys, but im sure the people who have watched it will know what i mean when i say (numb, nurse, snap) what a scene!!! MrRalphMan
Yep, pretty much agree although I wasn't really watching DP too closely.. Planet Terror though I really enjoyed.
Pete
Trying to watch Death proof now. I've got a decent DVD, TV and sound system and I'm watching a film with intentional jumping, repeating, scratches and marks, faded colour. WTF? It feels like Tarantino is just trying too hard to do what he wants to do to be cool. There's way too much typical tarantino BS dialogue in there too. I'm only 15 mins into it as well. Hopefully it'll get better.
marcAB10
i really liked both films to be honest, but by far the best was Planet Terror and yes the numb, nurse, snap scene was awsome..
