carl0s Posted December 8, 2004 Share Posted December 8, 2004 can one of you guys have a look at this schematic for me please, and tell me if I'm correct with my attempted understanding. http://www2.css-networks.com/i2c.pdf I don't need the stuff in the red box... the computer is doing all the necessary stuff, I have the software. the "bottom" part of Z1 and Z2 diodes are connected to a common ground consisting of Pin 5 of the host computers serial port, and GND (pin 4) of the in-place 24RF08 eprom that I will be reading. Actually, that seems pretty obvious now, but can anyone confirm? It should probably be noted that the connections to the eprom (GND, SDA, SCL) are not made until such time as the eprom is ready for reading (wires will be left broken, or some sort of push/pressure connecting block will be used). How do I identify the correct polarity of a diode, based on the schematic? Does the ring line up with the black line used in the diagram? help greatly appreciated!!
